I took mine in about a month ago and was told that this was just how the vehicle sounds. But I feel like it has definitely gotten louder/worse over time (and I don't think that the R1S I test drove made sounds like this). It is by far my biggest issue with the vehicle. Would love to hear from anybody who has had success in getting it addressed by a service center (assuming it can be).same for my R1S: squeaking suspension (or damper) over bumps at low speed. Anybody took the vehicle in, or had the mobile service looked at the squeaking issue and got fixed? or just learn to live with that?
And just to vent for a minute, I did not have a good service experience. Took the car in to address some cosmetic issues (etching in the paint, panel gaps), a defect in a rear window (looked like a bubble in the glass), and the squeaking suspension/dampers. Was originally told that they would fix the panel gaps, buff out the etching, and that it was just some adhesive on the window and that they would get it back to me that same day. About two weeks went by with no communication (other than when I called in and was told that they were "still working").
Turns out they broke the rear window trying to "fix" it. They didn't tell me that - the only way I know is that I heard a bunch of rattling on my drive home and found small pieces of glass in crevices in the back of the car. Some seem to have fallen into places that I can't access - they rattle like crazy when I go over bumps now. They fixed the panel gap on one door but not the other. And while they washed my car, it looks like they used steel wool to do it - there are crazy swirl marks everywhere.
All in all, if I knew then what I know now, I'd be very hesitant about taking my car in for cosmetic issues (though I do have to go back in so they can fix the rattling, which is driving me crazy).
