Make note that they are NOT T55... They are TP55...Thanks , did not want to use impact wrench in wrong direction
Make sure it is a TP55 , a regular T55 will strip it.Thanks , did not want to use impact wrench in wrong direction
Even with an impact mine were tough to get off! Those suckers are insanely tightThanks , did not want to use impact wrench in wrong direction
Rivian uses Locktite on those bolts making them horrible to removeEven with an impact mine were tough to get off! Those suckers are insanely tight
I got the bar and pipe to extend it. I hope the impact wrench does the job. Just waiting for tp55 specific 1/2” bit to arrive. May be it needs penetrating oil tooThis long breaker bar https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KWJCVVN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 made it really easy to break them loose.
You don’t need penetrating oil.I got the bar and pipe to extend it. I hope the impact wrench does the job. Just waiting for tp55 specific 1/2” bit to arrive. May be it needs penetrating oil too
Good point, Do you know the torque specs for tp55, 15mm and 17 mm bolts. I think I read for tp55 it is 85ft lbs ,You don’t need penetrating oil.
As long as you have the correct bit, ratchet and breaker bar, you’re all set. I’d also recommend you buy/rent/borrow a torque wrench for reinstallation of the bolts.
Also be ready for some emergency modification of your mounting hardware. One bolt on my truck wasn’t aligned like the others, making it impossible for the mounting bracket to fit. It was not the bracket, as I tested all of them and the issue persisted. I had to further elongate a hole on one mounting bracket for it to securely mount like the others.
Meaning right to loose and left to tight ?TP55, standard right hand thread.
