The charge goes in to the battery, which is in the middle. The battery then powers the motors. regardless of whether theyre in front or rear, after first going through the drive controller/human interface.
Wait, what?. No EV has their +/- in the middle of the pack....

Not in the dead centre of the car no, but it is between the front and rear wheels. IE the middle of the car. The terminals can be wherever, since the battery HV needs to feed in to the motor controller first (you know, so we have pedal throttle control and not WOT 100%), which then goes to the motors, regardless of if they're in the front or rear.

And those terminals should be in an optimized location for motor and charging if cost is a large concern. So FWD = front charging port.

If it were to be rear-driver, would it impede you from plugging in the vehicle?

The point I mostly want to make is that rear-passenger creates more challenges and blockers than rear-driver does.
Except one big issue; rear driver isn't next to the curb when you park in America; we will have to put up with the inconvenience of walking an extra 4 feet to plug in the car if the home charger isn't optimized for that configuration. My cable at home is plenty long to accommodate, the public charging infrastructure rarely can afford that much copper.

Anyone else get a survey about R2 and R3 vehicles? One of the questions was where ideal plug locations would be.
