The product that seems to be the most compatible across different vehicles (maybe not important for specific use on a Rivian), handshakes quickly, seems like it has the least issues are from TeslaTap:

A bit pricier vs. the Lectron, don't know if it's worth it. I do know that the Lectron was super flakey with a Wrangler 4xe, but the TeslaTap works perfectly.
I went with this one also. Build quality is nice - stout aluminum construction. Order turnaround was quick.

Really informative video that explains why Teslatap Mini is made better than Lectron and why it's worth the extra money. He opens up both in this video and a previous one.

I've used both the TelsaTap mini and the compact Lectron adapter. Actually own both. The TeslaTap is definitely the more rugged adapter, I bought the 80A capable one, even though I'm not feeding it 80A, and it does well charging my Lightning. I keep the TeslaTap in my Lightning and have the Lectron one stuck on the end of a 40A Tesla charger in my garage.

As for Tesla destination chargers and free and all that, Tesla never implemented a management or payment system that anyone could use for these chargers. Most of them out there are set up as a courtesy by hotels, banks, whatever, for their customers. I've installed a few myself at a couple of my commercial rental buildings. They're just the Gen-2 Tesla wall charger, that's what Tesla still sells for their destination units as they support installing on up to a 100A circuit and load balancing that the Gen 3 does not. There really is no "destination charger program" at Tesla, outside of them just promoting the chargers as something a business can install as a perk for customer benefit. But commercial sales lets you order the Gen 2 charger for that purpose and you get discounts for buying multiple.

I really wish we'd see more of them at hotels as that's where they make the most sense. No need to DCFC if there's a bunch of parking spaces with good 40~48 AMP L2 charging we can plug into overnight.

Funny you ask, we’re currently road tripping from Colorado to Texas and back. Our R1T is actively charging in a driveway using this Tesla to J1772

We’ve only used it at level 1 speeds so far, but it does work!

One thing to note when using this adapter, or at least the one we received. When initially plugging the adapter in to the truck after plugging the powered end into the adapter. The truck’s charging port light will glow red like there’s an error, the truck will renegotiate with the charger and charging works like normal after that.
I've used this one a bunch with no issues.
