- 2023 R1S Quad
First Rivian, first service visit today. Got this pretty girl. 2023 Quad R1S in for service. 2022 Quad 2022 R1T loaner. Never driven an R1T.
- Meridian - slightly better than my Rivian audio, but not life changing
- 20" wheels with pirelli ATs at wear bars vs my 21" with brand new Defenders....HOLY SHIT were these loud. I wonder if this (38K miles) had a front wheel bearing going too, or four of them....cuz damn were these tires noisy
- Handling - many reviews stated the R1S was a bit less composed than the R1T in spite of the same suspension set up. I agree. R1T definitely felt more planted and less wiggly.
- Tonneau cover - was a gen 1. Made a "clunk" sound when I hit the button. Didn't move. Performing expected then, I guess.
- (Vin 13xxx)
- I was surprised with this being a >10K vin how uneven the panel gaps were..the hood sunk in deep on the driver side near the front, with about a 1/2" ledge between teh hood and teh quarterpanel once shut. The Charge door had a huge chunk of paint missing from grinding due to misalignment upon open/close. My 5xxx VIN R1S has no build/alignment issues, (to me, I got it 2 months ago, it's a 2023 1 previous owner).
- Pedal mapping seemed different too. Much more agression in the R1T, much less damping of sudden inputs. Felt more racecar and less SUV than the R1S. Compared both in all purpose, medium regen, medium comfort.
- Love the Compass yellow. Love the wheels. Wondered if I'd ever use the gear tunnel after exploring it.
