Had a Launch Edition Green/Green quad motor R1T a big while ago, truly enjoyed the truck but had to get rid of it mainly due to our limited garage space and some strict HOA rules on street parking. Now we're having a much bigger house with ample garage space, I am start to think about getting another R1T, especially nowadays I can get back into Rivian without breaking my bank (pricing reduction and the availability of the dual motor variant). But I do have a few questions for y'all, especially if you're a recent owner, or have had two rivians (maybe an "older" one and a newer one, old I mean a year or two yrs lol).

How do you think about the overall built quality, especially the Dual Motor variant of the R1T (maybe comparing to your other vehicles you have owned).

Any dramatic difference between the quad and dual motors? Power, braking, suspension or battery performance.

Guide experience (my last one was a hit and miss, sometimes I didn't even know who was behind a computer communicating with us because of the writing style and the gaps in conversations, just my speculations).

Ev tax credit at Point Of Sale, has Rviain started doing it on delivery day?

Thanks and wish y'all a good day.

I went from a launch edition Quad to the latest Adventure DM. The evolution of the vehicle is clear, with the newer one being better than my original in virtually every category, at least for my use case.

They seem to be getting better all the time.

Thanks RIP. Do you mind me ask what made your switch from the quad to a dual. Thanks

Lol.

Quad enthusiasts get pretty touchy when I talk about it, but the topic has been beaten pretty much to death. If you do a search on posts I made during the time I owed the Quad, you can read all 'bout my frustrations with its (lack of) off-roading ability.

I took delivery of my QM in June 2023 and I could not find anything wrong with mine pre or post delivery. After 7500 miles I still have not required a service call.

I've ridden in a DM performance and was very impressed with it as well. Acceleration and handling seemed just as amazing as the QM. Can't go wrong with either IMO.

I'd probably get a DM.

My R1T has too much drive train noise to ever get another Rivian unless Rivian took pity on my ears by making me a good offer in trade.

It's a 6XXX VIN.

Aside from that and the near constant FW glitches its been pretty nice.

So nice that its maddening that they can't level up the refinement.

It's the perfect vehicle for my use case so I won't be getting rid of it anytime soon. At least not until another vehicle meets my use case with more refinement. So I definitely understand the use case desire.

The interior quality in our last R1T was definitely more superior comparing to our Tesla model 3 and Y, and I would rate the interior quality at the same level as our 2019 bmw 7 series which I really liked.

BTW, do Rivian still sending our mystery gifts after taking delivery? I had a picnic blanket last time.

I received no gifts after purchase, but I am fine with that. I was just happy I got a great truck

My R1T quad 8xxx hasn't had any real issues in 22,000 miles.

Getting a 33xxx quad R1S this weekend, will report back
When you placing your order for the 2nd Rivian, did they offer any incentive (e.g loyalty owner or Rivian employee referral discount). I may have read it somewhere on this forum as someone mentioned before, but when I try calling the 1-888-rivian1 and was told no and no, maybe YMMV.

They are both very capable vehicles. The dual motor does have 25,000 less miles battery and electric drive warranty.

If I were buying today I would likely go with dual motor mainly due to the cost difference now. We were pre price hike reservation holders.

If the prices were the same or within a couple thousand I would still opt for quad motor. I believe quad motor provides the most capability to tweak the vehicle via software because you have control at each wheel.

The quad vs dual debate is real and I think each individual will have his/her preference which is fine. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice.

I am with you 100%. My 1st R1T was a quad and it was purchased at the pre hike price. It will cost me at least $25K more if I want to buy the same vehicle today with exact same specification.

You brought a very good point which I never considered before, the battery and the drivetrain warranties. I would have to put that into a serious considerations.

Is the air suspension system still the same between the two variants?
