Thought my gear tunnel doors were just dirty from a recent snow/salt run…but no these are all PPF abrasions. Anyone else have this? I really can’t think of anything too harsh that I’ve run through recently

I’ve never noticed that on my gear tunnel doors.. do you have AT tires?

My camper also thinks it’s time for mud flaps:

Not an expert here but I thought PPF films were supposed to be self-healing if warmed by something lot hot water or the sun. Perhaps you are noticing more of the abrasion in the Winter due to the cold?

Yeah I’m putting the BestEvMod ones on today. Seem to be a bit more molded
I have those installed on my R1S for almost a year and just a heads up, there is efficiency hit. Need to use low or lowest to minimize range hit from the rear mudflaps.

Interesting. I have not noticed an efficiency hit on mine, though I did not conduct an exhaustive analysis. Can you elaborate how much of a hit you saw?

When set to standard height, All Purpose, Intermediate damping on my 23 R1S w/22" wheels, on freeway at 75~80 mph, before the mud flaps, about 2.1 miles/Wh. After mud flaps 1.8~1.9 miles/Wh. Drop to low suspension, improves to 1.9~1.95 (never gets to 2 miles/Wh on flat topology). In Sports setting, it's about the same in low. Never tried lowest in Sports as the damping is so poor that it's unusable with firm setting.

Change to Conserve lowest, soft, its about 2.1~2.2 miles/Wh

Thanks for the report. I have been looking at these as well. I would only use the rear ones on my R1T and maybe only when we are towing. How hard are they to install and take off would you say.

I have a 23 R1T with PTC. I usually top out at 75 in my part of the country and get about 2.4 efficiency. I only had the R1T for a short period before adding the mudflaps. And for the person asking about install, they were easy to install, using existing screw locations.

@malditofman I was mid unpacking the truck and snapped the pic.
Would it change your response to the abrasions if the door was closed?
