Towing in Conserve

For the first time ever yesterday I was allowed to enter conserve mode while towing. The trailer was marked as being 3500 lbs.

(Please refrain from man-splaining the tire wear situation)

I would only consider doing this on slow-ish highways with an aerodynamic light trailer with very little starts and stops.

Anyone else seeing this behavior? Is it only available for lighter trailers? Is it a bug?

For the record, it did seem to add substantial range just like you'd expect not towing a trailer.
On the right route it's probably not out of the realm of possibility to get almost 250 miles (with no large elevation gain).

Pretty sure I towed in conserve many updates ago... If memory serves me correctly I was also pleasantly surprised with the range.

I get maybe 5% better efficiency in conserve mode without towing, wonder if the delta increases or shrinks while towing between fwd and awd

Something wrong with your vehicle then. Should be well over 10% if not over 20%.

This was my first towing session of the season so you're probably right. Just hadn't had a chance to notice it before.
