the shorter accel pedal travel they have. The Rivian has quite a "long" throttle, and it almost feels like you have to pre-load it a few percent if you're already under way to get a good "hit"
Thanks for this insight, it was something that I thought might be why my Rivian felt different when flooring it.

Also, what do you mean be "pre-load"?

When I say pre-load I mean you're already at, let's say 10-20% throttle and gently accelerating or holding speed before you go WOT. So your foot has dipped into the pedal a little bit already.

It seems if you go from 0-100% throttle, there's more of a delayed response. Whether that's to protect the driveline or something else, who knows. But under the right conditions, these things feel violent!

Thanks. The reason that I started this thread was that after owning 3 previous EV's, (with lower 0-60 ratings) I don't feel as much "violence" in my new Tri-motor. For example when I'm cruising at 65 mph and I want to punch it, it just doesn't seem to through me back into my seat as I would have expected. The g-force is there but not as "violent".

I would think this would be something smart to build in. While I am all about performance at all cost, even the slightest amount of backlash between regen and hitting the drivetrain with 900 ftlbs would probably not last long. I would be in favor of some smart tunint

The launch pulls 1.2gs according to the little info thing. It launches harder than my Gen 1 did, and my wife's i4M50 feels slow compared to my tri, when it felt faster than my quad.
My quad occasionally hits way harder at a dead stop than it normally does. Instantly to 100% power instead of a quick ramp into it. I've never figured out exactly what I've done differently those times.

I notice the same thing, There have been many times I took someone for a joyride launch. Hyped it up then had to say. "hold on let me do it again, that was not it". My best guess it battery temp as I was not paying close attention to this back then and now know how big of a deal this is. But I dont know for sure and with it being intermittent I just dont know. I also do not like launching from a dead stop too often as its hard on everything and definitly puts some wear on the tires. I Do like to go full throttle litterily every opportunitly I have but just like to roll up to 10-15 MPH before stuffing it most of the time.

My old quad was pretty consistent. Occasionally, it would be slower but never faster.
