So as others have asked... Why are you trying to force tow mode? For regular cruise control?
Well it's mostly because my adaptive cruise doesn't work. Says service adaptive cruise. And service can't figure out why. So in the meantime I don't want to drive around all summer with no cruise.

Stopped at the store on my way to work this morning and bought an adapter with the LED lights. Worked like a charm!

I do wonder if those lights are on all day though or just when the truck is unlocked? I guess when the truck goes to sleep they must be off, otherwise your trailer lights would be on constantly when plugged in.

So yeah all good, but you lose a lot of other features like cross traffic alert and all sensors. I'll likely unplug it for now and just have it at the ready for my 100 mile commute when it fails.

Here I am filing feature requests with the support folks to be able to do the exact opposite, because my bike rack has brake lights on it. Hope you get your cruise control issues resolved soon!

I currently think the resistor needs to go between a blinker and ground, not the tail light. Is that what you did? The reason is that there are steady 2V on the blinker pins

I just plug my hitch rack in, tell it it's an accessory, and normal cruise control works fine. Granted no ACC which sucks, so I unplug during longer stretches on the highway during road trips.
