I just setup the key fob for the wife since she doesn’t drive it much, solves this problem as well.

Yes, there is. There are four Bluetooth sensors for proximity lock/unlock. The key that approaches from the driver's side should be made primary. And I think this is how it is supposed to work. My wife and I both have PaaK enabled and active in the system and have NEVER (over 16 months) had her key take priority over mine. That said, I'm not as chivalrous as some here and I don't open her door for her. That scenario definitely complicates the logic.
Unfortunately we can’t use PAAK. We live in an urban environment and the truck will unlock itself on the street while I’m sitting in my living room. Had to disable it altogether and use the fob. The fob is assigned to me (owner) and even if I unlock the truck with the fob, it says “oh but that lady is nearby so she probably wants to drive today. That’s the logic that they probably need to fix.

My truck unlocks while i'm mowing the backyard near-ish to the garage. From my perspective the range is too far. On the other hand it can be oddly sluggish at times even when i'm right next to the truck.

Is this a gender identity issue? Just kidding, the issue is truly gender natural, it's a problem if the settings are different for any drivers in the cache.
My observation is her phone is the one the stereo accesses, not mine. We are both Androids, figuratively speaking. She is who controls the song lists anyway, so we are good with the sexist dashboard OS.
My complaint is however, the time it takes to unlock the doors upon walking up to the truck. I guess the R1T does not make a good getaway for robbing banks or 7-11's.

Yeah, don't get me started on PAAK. It's been litigated/lamented all over these boards. I have disabled it and learned to live without it.

We're moving soon and IF the truck (a) registers that it's at its new home address -- something it does not do correctly today -- and (b) it doesn't randomly lock/unlock the truck while I'm inside the house, I may try PAAK again.

Currently, it's not only unusable but it also unlocks the truck without my knowledge while sitting on city streets... No bueno.

Unfortunately the Rivian FOB is pretty large. The Tesla one is small and works well (I guess the 3/Y people mostly dont have them so perhaps people dont know). Im used to keeping the Tesla one in my pocket at all times and Tesla gave me 2.

Rivian gave me 2 key cards (no auto entry and worse, no auto lock), the PaaK mess (I dont have PaaK for my 2018 Tesla), and then a single largish fob. The options perhaps fit the adventure lifestyle well, but not the daily driver type as much (>1K miles/month).

Yep. The fob is kind of a marketing gimmick, IMO. Sometimes I clip the carabiner to a belt loop and let it dangle, but that's only when I'm in Adventure Mode... It also sometimes requires me to hit unlock 27 times before responding.

The one thing I miss from my Audi is the ability to open the rear hatch by (a) having the key in my pocket and (b) sliding my foot under the rear bumper. Hugely helpful when arms are full of groceries or dog food or firewood.

Never had the foot thing on any vehicle but the Tesla FOB is very reliable. I can set it not to do crazy things at home and then do the door handles pop away from home. Works fine every time.

PaaK would be great if it was reliable. The keycard would work for me too if it auto-locked and was faster to respond.

As it is the options arent great PaaK is the closest and picking my own name each time when we go together isn't the end of the world.
