Anyone do the update and change tries to the 275/60 R20 and notice that the Speedo is showing 2mph faster than checking speed via GPS?
Usually does. FMVSS dictates that it can indicate lower than actual, so manufacturers add error to give a buffer.

Our R1S with 22" sports is 2mph optimistic. I'm aware of the law but I've also had vehicles that were spot on. I wish there was a way to calibrate the Rivian speedo.

I mean really thinking about it you shouldn’t even need to set the tire size. The vehicle has onboard GPS they should be able to take in the speed measured by GPS and take a measurement of axle rpm and calculate total wheel size, you could optionally add total tire/rim weight to further dial in the range estimates

Has anybody with a VIN number that that’s close to mine which is 006450
gotten their update?
We're only 58 hours into the update being released. It will take at least a week as Rivian sends it out in batches to not overwhelm the system. First priority is Connect+ subscribers, which is over 80% of Rivian owners. Some are expecting that they will be the first, but with that many subscribers, some will have to wait too. There is no specific order that they flag your vehicle for download. If it were by VIN, I would have been one of the first on day 1 every time since I'm VIN 000045. I didn't get flagged until 34 hours in this time. I have waited up to 10 days for some of the updates to be flagged for download. Be patient, it will come s00n.

Yes, I’m in the high 6000s. Downloaded without issue a few hours ago. Mirror tilt seems to be working.

However, rollout is not ordered by vin.

Hell ya! How many miles? What was your delivery date?
Original owner took delivery 12/2021. I bought it off of him (Rivian employee) in May, 2023 with 21K miles. Been all over the place, up to Mt. St. Helens, down to LA, out to Dallas for the eclipse and back through Monument Valley and Canyonlands adding another 34.5K miles in the last 22 months totaling 55.5K miles on it so far!

My Gen 1 R1S had a problem after this update. Currently being towed to Service Center now.

Basically, won't stay engaged in D or R. Once you take your foot off the brake pedal, it will engage back to P automatically.

Spent over 30 mins with Rivian on phone. They told me it's a known issue with this update, related to the new wheel configuration feature. Affects both Gen 1 and 2. The work around was to select a different wheel/tire reboot. Then reelect the original one. Reboot with hazard button again. Eventually the car was drivable. However, later on the day my wife had the same issue and was stranded. I went to rescue her. Surprisingly I could drive the car with my phone as key. However, we lost confidence in this and don't want my wife get stranded again. Rivian sent a tow truck the next AM to get it to a service center. Also provided a rental.

So if I were you, don't rush to get this update until they have a patch.

FYI the version on my Gen 1 is 2025.06.01.

I've not done the testing myself, but I've heard that this is by design. The vehicle knows what speed you're ACTUALLY going, and odometer/trip meter readings are bang on. But the speedo on the dash purposefully displays +2 mph for liability sake, so people don't speed as much

Tesla does this as well

Thanks for the report. This is why I tend to wait a few weeks before doing the update. I'm more than happy to be last and let the "I WANT THE UPDATE NOW!!!" gang do the beta testing ahead of me.

I do enough Alpha and Beta testing in my work life, don't need to do it for my car or phone.

Unfortunately can't say this is the first time that a new update screwed up the car. Last yr it stopped the charge port from opening. Car had low SOC and had to be towed to Rivian.

This is the norm for most cars. I did noticed that my 100% charged all purpose mode went from 303 miles down to 285 when switch to 20". 275/60/20". This is absolutely not true becaused I had 18K miles on it and it is slightly more efficient than my original 21". Each of them have been thru the whole season of winter/summer.
