After getting to drive it today. Confirming this is what we had to do. Not an issue for us as we're not sitting in the car utilizing the new casting feature or youtube, but hopefully fixed in 3 weeks. Would like it working by the time we actually take it on an extended trip.

Only thing I didn't test was if it stays off when toggling back the hotspot or wifi.
I had the same LTE wifi not working problem with my R1S - I was unable to hard reset with the left hand button and hazard as it would start resetting then fail. I fixed it by disconnecting my 12 volt battery for 4 hours and reconnecting it. This turned off then restarted the software fixing all of the prior connection problems.

I did however go into my routers settings (WRT1900), find my Rivian connected to the 2.4Ghz network, and reserve it's IP. It seems to work as it previously did though, and this was just for experimentation.
That's not a static IP though - that's just your router/DHCP server handing out the same IP to your Rivian each time it asks for an IP. I don't have my truck right now but I am 99% sure you can't set a static IP in the truck's network settings.

I wish going on LTE exclusively would work, but it didn't help me. There is definitely something wrong with how the truck is supposed to wake up from sleep. It's like the truck receives the wake up signal but is so groggy that it doesn't respond for a while, and the mothership says "well, this one is dead" and then just gives you the red cloud in the app.

How do you disconnect the 12v? My truck is having this exact same issue- Rivian told me to hard reset it, which the truck will not do. They also tried sending sms messages but says those all failed as well. Soonest appt they will give me is end of March.

There is a YouTube video that explains it. Look up Rivian 12 v battery replacement and it explains the process. Pretty straight forward. You need to disconnect for 4 hrs.

Rivian bumped up my appointment to next week Wednesday for this issue. My truck is totally offline- i can't do anything in the app, no SOS, no GPS, won't connect to WiFi. Truck has no idea where it is at any time -garage door opener popping up randomly as I drive, compass and elevation showing zero, map not changing at all). No idea what happened. It drives fine (thankfully), at least for now. Also can't do a hard reset.

Nice - I suspect they will disconnect your battery and let sit for 4 hours. There is a software glitch somewhere. Weird that they have not fixed it yet.
