Vehicle (Tag) still not registered

So we got our R1T in on 3 months ago. The temporary tag expires tomorrow. The state of GA and Rivian have still not been able to get our tag or registration to us. And after tomorrow we will just have to park the truck and get a rental vehicle until it is resolved.

Is anybody else having any issues like this? My rep said it has been a problem for people in several states. This all seems ridiculous. How can getting a registration be this complicated?

Same here, mine expires Friday. Called my guide Monday night, no call back yet. I’m in TX. I will not be parking my truck, I will continue to drive it. Hope yours gets resolved also!

I honestly have to believe this is an issue where whoever Rivian is using to do these is not doing their job. I know several people that bought vehicles in the last month in Atlanta and already have their tags.

I got the truck on 3/16 and just got my registration yesterday. Guide told me last week then the temp registration expired that Rivian would cover ticket cost associated with expired registration if it happened.

Unfortunately, they did not transfer my existing registration/ personalized plate to the R1T as I had requested during the purchase process - they send a new plate via FEDEX, with additional new plate registration costs (approx $600). Now I have to fight Rivian/Secretary of State to get this rectified...

Rivian should get you a new temp tag until they can get your registration processed.

I had this issue with a dealer, once, and a phone call and quick trip to the dealer resulted in a new temp tag dated another month out.

oh jeez. Did your rep understand or know why it was taking so long? Mine says they didn't like the insurance forms we have uploaded. But we have of course submitted the correct info.

Less than ideal, indeed. I don't know what's strictly "legal" in this scenario, but I know what I think is the "right" thing to do, and I have first hand experience that dealers have done what is necessary to "make it right". I'm surprised Rivian wouldn't do the same.

I had asked for a different plate design (oregon has multiple), and they said "nope, that's not something we're set up to handle". Will be interesting to see if you get any resolution from them on this.

What you can do (at least in Oregon) is get a 30 day temp from DMV, and then make Rivian pay for it. Ask your guide to escalate the issue to their management to get approval for this. The company Rivian uses (RegUSA) is a joke and have major delays processing anything.

Same here in Oregon. Mine expire tomorrow. First Rivian sent the wrong amount to the DMV, after over 2 months, supposedly they have sent full payment now but haven't seen any progress. I am going to try to call the DMV this morning and see if I can actually sort it out.

Rivian is blaming delays at the DMV which is hilarious based on the timeline. Take ownership Rivian, you screwed up, don't blame everyone else it makes you look like a bunch of idiots.

My temp guide reached out yesterday saying they are trying to get approval for a rental.. I don't have another car to drive.
