Bet your phone is made by Commies. Not bad if you don't mind driving around a data collection device for the CCP.
My wife had the opposite opinion about the 2nd row. I’m 6’ 7” and we need her to fit in the seat behind me. In the R1S her knees were running into the buckles on the back pocket of the front seat. She found that her legs were much more comfortable in the back seat of the ex90 with the seat adjusted for me.The back seat was not nearly as comfortable.
Well one of us was off then. I am 6'3" and adjusted the front seat for me driving and then sat in the back for both vehicles and found the R1S to be more spacious with room to spare. Felt very cramped in the Volvo. I don't put a lot of credit in seat room measurements because the guidelines are a bit open to interpretation. Two vehicles with similar dimensions can create very different experiences. You are correct about the HVAC, probably a better experience. My wife had the opposite opinion about the 2nd row. The ex90 only has 1 inch less combined legroom than the R1S. As for 2nd row hip room the R1S has 54.2 inches where as the ex90 has 56.4. The shoulder room in the R1S 2nd row is 58.9 vs 57.8 in the ex90. Overall from a measurements perspective the cars are very similar for passenger room.
Also the second row had air vents in the b pillars unlike the R1S which produces better heating/cooling for the 2nd row than just the low center vents.
The R1S does have more storage, especially in the frunk.
Ultimately it may just be that someone 5’ 4” (my wife) and someone 6’ 3” fit differently in the 2nd row. Your knees hit different parts of the seats, head height is different, etc. This is why it’s so important for everyone to physically sit in a car before purchasing.Well one of us was off then. Same experience here. The passenger space seemed at worst the same as an R1S.My wife had the opposite opinion about the 2nd row. I’m 6’ 7” and we need her to fit in the seat behind me. Exactly, like every iPhone user.....Not bad if you don't mind driving around a data collection device for the CCP.
