Hi all - I'll start by saying that I am working with Rivian service on this issue, but I would welcome suggestions from the forum.
My wife and I picked up our R1S on Tuesday and had a local electrician install the Rivian home wall charger yesterday (on a 60A circuit).
My wife was out when they finished install, but I was easily able to add the charger to my app (bluetooth check) and then connect it to my home network (WiFi check).
When my wife got home, the battery was in the high 60s% and we had the charge limit set to 70%.
I went ahead and plugged it in anyway because I wanted to test the charger.
I am almost certain that the charge port turned green and the R1S front bar LED turned green.
I left it overnight and was disappointed to find the battery at 65% in the morning. And something seemed to indicate that no charge had been added.
I got on chat support and did a bunch of troubleshooting - reset the car, powered wall charger on/off, etc etc.
Now when I connect the wall charger, I don't get any green ... charger LED pulses white and charge port remains white.
Next up, I tried the portable charger (only have access to 120V). Portable charger works and starts charging the vehicle ... albeit VERY slowly. The app tells me that the charging rate is just 1 mi/hr (though it has added 3 miles in the last hour so maybe the claimed charging rate isn't super accurate).
One last data point ... if I look at the "Vehicles and gear" section of the app, I can see that the Wall Charger says "Ready". If I connect it to the vehicle, "Ready" changes to "Charging", but within a few seconds "Charging" changes to "Plugged In". And the charging port never turns green.
It seems to me like there is some kind of communication breakdown between vehicle and charger. Everyone knows that a charger is connected, but something gets screwed up in the handshake.
Has anyone else encountered something similar?
