Anyone else experienced a very wet driver floor? Passenger side also a bit wet, but mostly the driver side. I had posted on the reddit Rivian sub. Seems it could likely be a drainage issue. I was away, and it had rained quite a lot in NorCal. Car is outside, plugged in.

Small mold started developing on the floor back near driver seat and along doorsill carpet. I contacted Rivian, sent them a video of it.

Was wet from up near steering rack all along the carpet on floor...Somone on reddit had same issue and for them it was a drain issue below windshield. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. 36XX vin.

Car was parked so I don't think it is the HVAC leaking some have reported. Awaiting a service date. Hopefully they can also get my air compressor working and have a conversation about the tiger striping on hood as well as the tiger striping on right side of vehicle above the doors. LA Silver.

I had this issue and it was water coming in from an unsealed hole behind backseat where the tonneau cover cavity is. Soaked my whole floor. They took out tonneau cover, found unsealed locations and sealed. Fixed.

Let us know what they find where the leak was coming from. My LA Silver VIN 77xx delivered last July luckily didn't have any tiger stripes, so they may have fixed that issue.

I have the same issue. I tracked down a moldy smell and found wet driver and passenger carpets last night. Shop vac-ed the carpets and let it air out overnight with windows and doors open and a fan. I’ll be contacting service this morning.

Initially they were handing me back the truck, and when I asked what the resolution and issue that caused it was, I was told they couldn't replicate the problem.

So just be prepared to push back to find the solution. Took 7 weeks to get mine sorted. Hasn't rained yet but so far power washing hasn't been any issue.

Mine was apparently a foam that is use to channel the water was somehow bad, so they ended up taking alot apart and replacing that as well as the driver floor carpet.

And, after all that time when I picked it up, well, the driver seat wasn't functioning properly. One would think someone should check all is in order.

Good luck! I hope your experience is smoother than mine.

Ok reviving this thread. Just dropped off the wife's R1S for this issue. Passenger side was bone dry but driver floorboard was soaked from back of pedals to driver seat mounts. Also an earthy smell.

Seems to be a clogged drain. Did everyone here get theirs sorted?

It's in service now waiting to be repaired. I'm only seeing this happen on R1S though, which is strange. If it was a defective drain or HVAC box, you would think that it would happen on R1T as well.

This happened to my R1S last September after a hurricane blew through. Soaked entire front and left side of second row. The work order says they replaced the main HVAC assembly and all front and second row carpeting. Hasn’t leaked since.

We had heavy rains over the weekend. When I got in the R1T Sunday, the front passenger area had standing water. Had to open the door to let the water out. I scheduled a service appointment but the first available is two months from now. I’m concerned with waiting two months if I’m going to have water in the vehicle when it rains. Anybody have any ideas of how to determine where the leak is coming from so I can try to address it myself?

I would contact service support and ask them to move your appointment up. Once mold/mildew develops it will be very difficult to get it fixed.

Yes, they should treat it like an urgent repair.

The Rivian service folks called me before I had a chance to call them and I now have an appointment on the 18th. I appreciate the way they proactively contacted me. This will be my first service appointment since taking delivery last November.

That's great news. You don't want to be dealing with what we are dealing with on our R1S.
