What’s the deal with the locks issues?

Gen 1 R1T, with lock at home, no unlock, no video recording at home. I haven't noticed any difference in sleep/wake when left unlocked. I've sat outside near it in both states, and observed it being the same as far as I can tell. One thing that IS a problem however is that it does wake up just getting near it, which starts the AC, turns on everything, captures my bluetooth, etc. This is annoying as hell because I spend a lot of time in my garage-shop and outside working on things or socializing (my driveway is a neighborhood hangout).

As to unlock, I have a button on my Watch to start HVAC, and one on my phone to unlock. I also have "unlock Rivian" as a voice command. I'm already pulling out my phone every time I drive, to put it on the dock/charger, so it's a natural thing to do. If I am going to have my hands full, I use the app/button/voice to unlock before picking things up.

There are a ton of options with modern phones and their shortcuts/automations.

I have had two R1T’s a launch edition quad motor and its replacement a dual motor. I only use the fob, wrist band, key ring and key cards. They all work really well. I do not use my iPhone as I found that to leave the Rivian app open increases the battery drain on my iPhone and the truck. As such I have not had the problems others have referenced when using their phones.
