Apologies if this has been covered but I didn’t see anything concrete on a quick search.

Does the r2 come with the portable charger as standard? Also can anyone confirm if it came with any adapters for non-nacs fast or L2 chargers?

I have an original rivian wall charger non-nacs and i’m getting an R2 when invited. Curious if I have to buy some adapters for home and for fast charging at non-nacs dc chargers.

on the Rivian webpage, go to "Design Yours", Accessories, scroll down, and you'll see this:
Customers registering a new R2 in CA, CO, DC, DE, MA, MD, NJ, NM, NY, OR, RI, VT and WA can get a Rivian Portable Charger, J1772 AC Adapter and Combo CCS1 DC Adapter at a discount equal to the price of each item. We’ll automatically apply your discount during the purchase process before delivery of your vehicle.

Hope this helps

Comes with nothing unless you're in one of the states below:

"Customers registering a new R2 in CA, CO, DC, DE, MA, MD, NJ, NM, NY, OR, RI, VT and WA qualify for a discount equal to the price of this product. We’ll automatically apply your discount during the purchase process before delivery of your vehicle."

I don't see the word "or" in there, so does that mean I get all 3 in NJ?

Oh dang, I missed that, thanks.

I’m in Texas, so I guess that frunk will be empty.

You will note the list of states all have one thing in common, high taxes. They all adopted laws requiring EV companies to provide them. Nothing is free.

Washington State does not mandate that EV companies provide adapters or portable chargers, yet we're on the list.

Might want to adjust your assumptions and stereotypes, and keep politics out of it?

I didn't assume anything or stereotype anything or bring politics into it. Not sure what you're talking about.

Please check yourself before coming at others so rudely.

Mentioning that a particular set of states have laws on the books is bringing a political view to things, since getting those laws passed is political by nature.

That being said, I have wondered why these states, since a few of them DON'T have said laws on the books - heck, it's not even a CARB or CAFE requirement that I've been able to find.

Washington state adopted the CARB rules that require all new electric vehicles sold or registered in the state to be equipped with a Level 1 and Level 2 compatible portable charging cord as standard equipment starting with model year 2026.

CARB ACC II:
https://ww2.arb.ca.gov/rulemaking/2022/advanced-clean-cars-ii#:~:text=Final Regulation Order for Section 1962.4 Zero-Emission Vehicle Standards,Cars and Light-Duty Trucks

Specific subsection for ease of reading but also in the above link:
https://www.law.cornell.edu/regulations/california/13-CCR-1962.3

The other user who came at me was in fact not only very rude but wrong also.

If you’re not in one of those states mentioned, I’d get the following from shop.tesla.com for the most compatibility with AC charging.

Mobile Connector - $300
NEMA Adapter Bundle - $245
SAE J1772 Charging Adapter - $50

Probably don't need the adapter bundle unless you have a specific use case and even then you can buy them individually for $35-$45 each. The mobile connector comes with 5-15 and 14-50 adapters.

No, you just lumped us all together in one big basket with a derogatory label commonly used as a partisan talking point.
Washington state adopted the CARB rules ...
So nothing to do with "high tax states" then? Just CARB regulations adopted because we like our air cleaner and have 80% renewable electricity? Or are you now going to give me a (non-political?) lecture about how this amounts to a backdoor tax?

And yes, I think you know very well that the term " (adjective) high tax states" is commonly used to imply other things, even if you didn't fill in the adjective in the Mad Lib (whoops, was that a double entendre?). Because that is the overwhelming narrative in the popular "media" these days, and it is an entirely political narrative which you can't claim you've never been exposed to.

If you don't believe that's a stereotype, then as an exercise why don't you write down a list (for your own use - you don't have to share the list) of five adjectives you associate with "high tax states". Examine that list - can you truly say there's not a political opinion implied by your choices?
