Hvac is turned off completely.
car is locked.
Hasn’t been driven or charged in the past 15 hours. Just sitting here. But there’s a fan noise and I’m losing about 2 miles of range every hour.

anyone know what this is and how I can turn it off? At this rate there will be no juice left in a few days and I’ll have to recharge.

Edit: Pretty mild temps today, right now it's 71F and it's pretty much been at that all day.

Could just be attempting to regulate the battery temperature. What is the temperature in your area/garage?

Hmm, 70 is pretty close if not right in the battery's comfort zone.

Is it doing it periodically, or constantly?

I've visited the car a few times through the day and I can always hear it. I also have the Proximity feature turned off but that still sense that I'm near, it just doesn't unlock and lock the truck.

My Model Y will run the fan for 10-20 minutes when I come back from driving it. If the car has been sitting there for a while though, not too sure. One thing to check is I remember I recent update said it would keep the hvac running if a passenger was detected in the car. So maybe make sure it doesn't think something is in the car. Could be a faulty seat sensor.

I think it is a ‘feature’ of the latest update. I have noticed the fan running more as well.

Having the exact same issue/noise! We come into the garage in the morning, it hasn't been charging but is still humming. It's the same result with losing precious miles while sitting idle.

I have noticed this all started after the most recent software update.

I mean the release notes said "Improved range loss consistency while vehicle is sleeping"

If the fan is running all the time that would be more consistent ?

Lol. Range loss consistency. That’s comedy gold right there. I’m considering putting the car in “shipping” mode to turn everything off over night. This electricity ain’t cheap.

Reminds me of my old Jeep where the fuel pump relay would stick and the pump would continue after the car was off and just drain the battery.

Obviously not the case here.

Since there were reports of the air compressor for the suspension overheating due to constant suspension adjustment, I wonder if the new update is more generous in cooling that down via some fans.

That being said I don't have the truck and actually have no idea what I am talking about.

I've noticed this before, but moreso with the new update. Unlocking the truck made it stop. I plugged it in, locked up, and the fan started back up. Haven't driven in 9 hours, it's 50°F in my garage. ??‍♂

Mine is doing the same thing. Took delivery a week ago and I don't think the fan has turned off. Plugged in or not. Proximity on/off. HVAC on/off. Fan just seems to run. Going to call Monday on it and will post any information.

I think it would be useful to report this issue to your guides or file a service request. Hopefully it's an easy fix.
