We have several AO Coolers that are left over from when we had the boat. We use the 24-pack size (although there are many) as they are enough for wine bottles when out tasting, lunch, or other foods for a day trip. I like the size of these as they don't get so heavy you can't lift them and you can also put pillows, blankets and suck on top of them. We've had these things about 10 years and they hold up well.

I carry an Ecoflow Delta Max power station with two companion smart batteries as auxiliary power for our Airstream travel trailer. (This setup could also serve tent campers). These three units were previously housed under our RAM 2500 truck cap. They now fit perfectly in the gear tunnel of our new R1T, and the doors allow ventilation and easy temporary connection of the shore power cable and portable solar panel cables. Safe, secure and dry. No, I’d rather not use the vehicle inverter and main battery for this purpose. Yes, the 6 kWh of storage could put 10 -12 miles into the R1T in a pinch.
I’m looking at these. How long does it hold a charge? Live in the NW and I need something to handle the occasional power outages in the winter. I would use it to run power tools occasionally but will go months without use. I saw somewhere that they can hold for a year but that was from a seller. I don’t mind having occasionally recharge just don’t want to do something monthly

Any decent LFP battery should be able to hold a pretty good charge for a long time. 20-30% self discharge rate over a year's time is what one would probably expect in many situations.

Because of the odd shape of the opening, I don't tend to try and cram larger objects in my tunnel. Over the last few years, I've generally been using it for outdoor sport accessories. Currently my tennis bag/shoes, climbing harness/shoes/chalk bucket (for quick gym trips) and mountain bike helmet/gloves/pads live in the tunnel. Also helps keep stinky shoes out of the cabin!

My dog rides in the gear tunnel an loves it! Just fold down the cup holder thing on the back seat and she sticks her head through to keep an eye on me and for fresh air. This tunnel is so great as it keeps my hairy dog from trashing the car with her hair, window licks, etc. My dog is older and I have put off buying a new car partly because of not wanting the dog to trash the new vehicle, but....this gear tunnel solves issue for me, and my dog loves it. The gear tunnel is covered in dog hair though :)
