On a more serious note - my son isn’t in there all the time.
What is usually stored in there:
1) SUP racks
2) At least 1 camping chair, with usually 2 more in the frunk
3) Tailgate mtb pad - sometimes
4) The dog’s blanket / seat cover
5) 2 large towels and a couple of rugs (for cleaning up after surfing)
Cycling gear bag with helmet, shoes, gloves, plastic grocery bag that I use as a vest, arm warmers, knee warmers, some bike tools, floor pump, etc. The gear tunnel is great. It is even better than the camp speaker.
I can't believe that Rivian still has not released the slide out gear tunnel after nearly 2 years!! it was in my original truck order. They said by the end of the year (last year). Would be a great feature.
The kitchen was one of their big marketing points too. Not sure what happened with that either. 2 years later, still nothing. I understand somethings being difficult to develop, but those two items looked pretty good in all the pre-production trucks. No clue why they aren't building them?
- traction boards
- 7’ fishing pole (split), net, and tackle box
- portable toilet
- Rivian recovery kit
There’s still plenty of room to throw an odd duffle or two on either side, too. Unfortunately, my 11’ surfcasting rod is too long, even when split 60/40. That usually clamped in a Thule ski rack on the roof.
