Being early adopters most of us realized that service issues would arise and are willing to work through them to help Rivian succeed. The disappointments I have realized are mostly related to lack of professional communication practices. Multiple times it has been left to me to contact service to find out the status of a delivery, pick-up or status of the repair situation. Promises for a call back are not fulfilled and currently my vehicle that has been in service for a week has an unknown status unless I decide to call back AGAIN!
Also, the ā€˜guide’ program is useless unless you wish to wait two days minimum for a reply.
Professional COMMS uber critical. Service manager or COMMs specialists task. Technology has turned us into needy consumers that are starved for personalized attention. Text function providing reports to customers is too easy.

I was offered a ā€œNissan Versa, Toyota Corolla, or similarā€. I was not happy.

Ugh, yeah, not quite the same experience as having my Volvo dealership come to my house to pick up my XC60 for its 60k service and leaving me with an XC90 as a loaner. Early adopter sacrifices....

What does rivian rent for you if you need to leave your truck with them?
I got a Dodge 1500 PU last time from Enterprise. It was OK. I asked about a Tacoma they had but it was unavailable. I am heading back over in about an hour as my truck was towed away this morning for it's third service trip ( :CWL: ). Hoping for a tacoma but I don't really care. Jus need well at the moment.

My service ticket popped up a $240 charge today for the alignment I requested.

I immediately called them and asked ā€œWTF?ā€.

They gave me the first one ā€œfreeā€ since the truck has so few miles on it. (They’ve had the truck longer than I have at this point)

This is the most frustrating new car experience I’ve had in 23 years buying new cars. (Yeah I know your friend’s brother’s cousin has that bad Dodge RAM once)

I’m having a bad Rivian day over here guys. Someone give me a hug.

Truck return from SC now delayed until Wed next week at the earliest.

If the issue is the same since delivery of the truck, they shouldn't be making you pay for it. But if they actually fixed it and the problem came back thousands of miles later, I could see them wanting to charge for it.

Define how many thousands. I think there should be some warranty for workmanship.

There seems to be a compelling mountain of evidence building that neither the factory nor service centers are doing a great job aligning R1 vehicles. I don't think it's reasonable to need an alignment every month or two.

Yeah there’s really no way for them to tell if I drove my truck into a moon crater. On the other hand, they’ve had my truck longer than I have, so there’s really no way for me to tell if _they_ drove my truck into a moon crater either.

They are taking care of it. I’m just annoyed I had to spend time calling multiple people, listening to that hold music, just to get them to acknowledge this one is on them.

Hope they fix it right. My rental has better alignment.

Once a vehicle is properly aligned the only reason for an alignment should be worn, loose or damaged parts. Strange yours would be out again unless they didn't do it right the first time.

Rivian has a gig with Enterprise.

First SC appointment they put an Enterprise reservation in for a full size pickup (when Enteprise called to confirm, I updated the request to just a sedan; no truck needed).

For my second SC appointment, they have put me in for a premium car on the reservation.

I’ve only put 600 miles on it since first attempted delivery day July 18th.

Makes me wonder if winching it onto tow trucks has done something. It pulls slightly to the right, which I thought might be the road slope/curvature, but the rental is like a straight arrow compared. (Rental has 24k and tires that need air once a week)

Every time I have read about Rivian and an alignment issue, it always pulls to the right, not to the left. There has been some speculation that it may not be the alignment, but possibly all 4 motors not syncing up properly.
