You're suggesting maybe 279 miles rating on the initial R1T battery option

Would be a deflating outcome if true. I was hoping the "at least 300" would end up like 320. Not 20 fewer on the negative side. But yes, I know is reading raw code. Another gut punch to prep for maybe
At this point, there's no way they are launching with less than advertised range and I say that with 100+ confidence.

The only change to the batteries is likely the size. Considering a quote ages ago from one of their employees that they had improved efficiency 10% since their reveal (I've tried for ages to find it since to no avail) and that coupled with the change from battery pack names away from KWh to standard, long and max, it fits with them likely downsizing the pack but still being able to meet their initial range

The 279 number is weird. I haven’t seen any EV’s state ā€œ279 miles estimatedā€. The would bump it down to 275 or up to 280.

I can’t imagine they would put out a truck with less than 300 miles EPA. They have too much invested and they need to reach that benchmark.

All that being said, if it’s really less than 300 miles, I might wait for the Max Pack.

My Bolt is advertised as having a 259 mile range.

The Mercedes EQC appears to use 279 as its stated range.

I still can’t imagine the R1T having less than 300 miles, but maybe I am just hoping so.

Well that would be a fail if it’s 279 mile range with the 135 kWh pack, for years advertising 300+ and also initialing claiming the max pack would be available at launch, and now that’s not true and potential range estimate below 300, ugh. If true I’m waiting for the max pack for sure, was hoping they would surprise with something around 320 mile range for the R1T at launch.

This is what I learned last night...(like many here) I'm jonesin'!

Not gonna lie between sets in the garage gym I measured the space where the R1T is going to go…again…just to be sure…again… 86ishā€ by 217ishā€


Was considering shifting the Prius out to the driveway, moving the Leaf to the Prius spot, taping an outline denoting ā€˜Insert Rivian Here’.
