In July 2020, our 2007 Dodge Mega Cab was totalled when an old guy ran a stop sign and I've been looking for its replacement since then. I think the R1T will be a great choice. In red canyon, of course. That gear tunnel with the shuttle is an outstanding location for my first responder kits and PPE. But I agree with bac4uw. If my truck's connectivity, or features (I don't know if Tank Turn will be treated as an added feature), is dependent on me paying a subscription fee on top of the estimated $126,000.00CDN before all those wonderful Canadian "Luxury Taxes" are added in, then I'll cancel and put the funds elsewhere.
Remember, Rivian is not far removed from Tesla and other tech companies. They will be mining your data every second you’re near YOUR truck, the one that you are paying top dollar to get ownership of. And then you'll be paying them more to keep doing it in perpetuity.
So far, the details of Rivian's membership perks are annoyingly vague, while their Terms and Conditions page appears comprehensive to say the least.
