Received my loaner today. It's a Santa Claus spec R1T! Red exterior, green interior. It also has the 20" bright wheels. I always like those wheels in photos, but I like them even more in person. Now that they're in the Gear Shop I'm tempted to buy them.

I liked both the red and the green interior but I was worried that it would clash really badly. How does it look? Too late for me now as I already have mine but maybe in a couple years the wife will get an R1S

Honestly, it's pretty ugly IMO.

I like the red more than I thought I would (though I wouldn't trade my blue R1T for it). Seeing the forest edge interior in person it's not bad, but I don't think it's worth the $2k premium. The wood finish is nice, but the green headliner is just... weird. Together the red and green are hideous. With a neutral color I think the green is drab enough to hold up, but when you see the door card or the dash pad right next to the red paint it's just not complementary.

Only combination I think would be worse is blue/green, evidenced by the lowest selling price combination on Cars & Bids thus far.

That's what I figured and I'm glad I went with BM interior with my RC. I love the RC and didn't want to give it up but unfortunately that took the green out of the running.

I have to think that a buyer spec'd that combination and then didn't buy. Nice that service customers get to drive a red truck for a while.

A few years ago, when Tesla were put into service, the location of the car could be inaccurate. I remember calling Tesla and asking why my car was in the wrong location.

Truck is still in Memphis. Been driving a rental Ford Edge, courtesy of Rivian. Makes me appreciate the R1T a bit more, though I must say it’s been nice to have CarPlay again.

Advisor updates me this evening saying they will need the truck a bit longer, however they got their loaner R1T back and would like to offer it to me. Very nice of them to do. Makes the sting of the loan payment a bit less to drive a similar vehicle.
Why do they have it?

A ton of issues being addressed that I noticed since delivery. Mostly minor or cosmetic, though I do have the misaligned steering, truck pulling right, creaky half-shafts, and clunky suspension. They're also addressing the recall which was announced while in the shop.

How early after receiving the vehicle do you have to notify rivian of the issues for them to fix it? I know Tesla had a like 100 mile 5 day rule or something, beyond that they will refuse to fix.

I did a pretty thorough walk-around a few days after I took delivery back on 6/14 and snapped a photo of anything and everything I thought was questionable and opened a ticket through the app. They didn't specify a timeframe, but my theory was within the 7 day/1,000 mile return window would be fair. It took them 3 months to get me an appointment. I didn't mind too much since none of it prevented me from driving the truck. So far they haven't denied any of my claims AFAIK.

The Memphis SC is doing the mechanical/trim work, then they are going to send it to an approved body shop to address the fitment and paint concerns. They coordinated everything and will pick up the loaner at the same time they bring my truck back. Aside from some communication hiccups I've been very happy with the experience. We'll see how well everything was addressed once it's back.
