Dumb question. Been driving my truck for a little over two weeks now. The built-in nav is pretty lackluster compared to Android Auto, but one thing I noticed today is that it never talks to me. Alexa is set up and if I say "Alexa, navigate to work" it takes me there without complaint. But it has never once given me spoken directions. I did find one thread on here where someone had a similar problem and it was fixed by a mobile tech. Probably something simple in my case, what am I missing? And no, it is not muted, LOL. ?

When you have the navigation up and running, there is a "volume" icon down in the bottom left (I'd take a photo, but I'm not near my vehicle at the moment). Tap that to give you different notification options.

Also, each audio source has its own, independent volume, so it's possible the navigation volume is all the way down. I can't remember where you can change that, but I think it's on the music tab, under an "advanced volume" option.

Following up on my own thread, went through all the settings and they looked correct. Even tried changing the Alexa voice and downloaded the Alexa app on my phone, in case there was a setting somewhere that I'd missed. Ultimately wound up resetting infotainment system (the "both steering wheel buttons" reset) when I got home. That fixed it.

Wow, her voice is awful though compared to AA. ?

I think you can change the Alexa voice by asking her to, but the default one is the least worse in my opinion. Very limited options.

I considered changing it to one of the Male voices, but I'm not so sure I'm comfortable with a man named Alexa being in control of that stuff in my truck.

Just think of him as Alex A (for Amazon?) instead of Alexa. You’re just using his first name and last initial put together. Problem solved. :like:

The thing that throws me off most from no longer having AA, I had Siri using a New Zealand dialect, and now it feels weird to no longer have that.
