Whistling over 60mph with recirculate mode on

We have the same exact same whistle in our R1S. We took it in for a SC appointment and they removed and resealed the windshield. The whistle is still there and now the general wind noise is worse.

We did some troubleshooting on our own and noticed that the whistle goes away when the grille over the HVAC intake is removed (the plastic part right in front of the windshield).

We're afraid to take it back in until they have a definitive fix because we're worried that they're just going to make the wind noise worse.

My R1S has a slight whistling wind noise on highway when recirculation mode is on. My preferred solution? just turn off the recirculation mode. I know it is no ideal but I feel it is better than keeping asking service center to make repair and potentially cause more issues down the road.
