WiFi helps to get the update s00ner rather than later

I’m always connected to WiFi at home, and it has no impact on when I get the update. Always random if I’m first or last in line. No different for this one. Connected to WiFi for the last 48 hours and no update for me. All good though, I don’t mind waiting.

They specifically said on the last update that they are now prioritizing wifi users. My update started download within 5 min of connecting to wifi when I got home from work.

Right, but it doesn’t seem to guarantee one gets it right away, apparently. I’ve been connected ever since the update dropped and still not available to me. No big deal to me. I’ll get it when I get it.

Maybe I’m on Rivian’s naughty list.

Oh, right. I misunderstood your post. I agree, WiFi doesn't mean early, just earlier than LTE.

Same here- wifi since announcement but no update. That's ok, not much of an update compared to the more substantive ones I received in the first day or two. If there's one to 'lose' the lottery on, it's this one.

I ran a dedicated ethernet cable with POE to a ubiquiti access point in my garage locked to 2.4 ghz (to be compatibility with the rivian charger). It is a dedicated "car network" for just the car and the charger.

With all that, I have been consistently last to get updates and my charger still shows offline constantly in the app. ?‍

I got the update last night and will go on a test drive now to hear the changes in audio.

Night and day difference in Audio after the latest update.

Improved sound stage, actual bass down low that has extension and mid bass you can feel in your chest, cleaner highs and overall better audio processing thanks to Atmos.

10/10 feels like a brand new vehicle after the suspension/audio update and like I just picked it up today from taking delivery.

I’m looking for excuses to take a 5 hour road trip each way this weekend to spend time listening to music in the Rivian.

Thanks Rivian. You easily saved me from spending $3,000 (JL subwoofer+amp+battery/labor) - $15,000 (all new Focal speakers and JL amps in all locations plus custom subwoofer box with 2 - JL 12w6 audio subs) at Car Toys for upgrading the Audio system.

I am currently using Apple Music with Dolby Atmos support.

I would recommend for everyone to seriously consider the premium audio upgrade offered by Rivian and pair it with Apple Music.
