Hi all - I've always experienced a whistling noise on the driver's side ever since delivery. The Blauvert SC actually replaced my roof but I didn't experience any relief. I've been watching some of your YouTube videos on using tubing to cut down on the noise, and as I was trying to out some of the solutions, I noticed this on the chrome trim, on the driver's side between the windshield and the roof. the trim is not straight: looks like it was either a manufacturing defect, or damaged? As a result the weather stripping isn't firmly attached to the chrome. Any of you seeing this? I just booked a mobile service to see if they can resolve.

After some complaints from me in first 4 months of ownership, Rivian replaced the top most metal strip on top of the windshield as it was slight loose/lifted by about 2-3mm for about 5" (you could push it down at the upper edge and wasn't flush down). My R1S was making some wind buffeting noise at that lifted edge. The service center guys pretty much peeled/lifted the top windshield metal strip off, cleaned off the adhesive tape, and put a new one on. It look them about 15 minutes to do. I also put some 1/4" round closed cell foam EPDM tubing (off Amazon) in the gap between the middle top black piece and the top side pillar pieces to get better airflow/reduce buffeting and it may have helped a little as well. It was about 10" on each side (see photos below on how I placed it to reduce the gaps--at the front of leading edge of the tubing, I gently tucked it under the windshield rubber trim; at the back I tucked it in the space between the black floating plastic trim). Currently, the freeway wind buffeting is just about gone.

I would request Rivian to replace that off kilter silver trim piece--a little off in alignment can cause a bit of turbulence/whistling.

That's very interesting. I was told by the mobile tech that the metal strip and the black piece above is one single piece, and they would have to replace the entire unit. I see yours is fully straight and flush, while mine is deformed. Still waiting to hear back from Rivian service.

They definitely just replaced the top windshield metal trim and left the black top piece behind it in place. I had some PPF on the top leading edge black piece (just in front of the smoked glass top) and you can still see it there after they worked on the metal trim replacement. Of course, my R1S was 9/2023 build, so things also could have changed since then. If it were my car, as the metal trim is pretty deformed, I would strong push for a replacement of the affected piece(s). The Boise service center guys were pretty good about getting my car fixed. Good luck!
