Basically every single actuation of the auto-wipe is past my personal safe threshold. I know this video appears like the wipers actuate by voice command, but keep in mind, my brain is already uncomfortable. EVERY WIPE.

Am I crazy? The only options are to “one shot” the wipers CONSTANTLY or to 5-click into downpour. (Shower has too long of an intermittent delay for a, you know, a SHOWER)

Filed a service request. Gonna buy rainX until they adjust it. Really annoying.

Another thing that makes this worse is their choice of “toggle nub” vs a rotary control.

On my former Japanese cars, switching between intermittent and slow (constant) was literally one lever pull away.

It takes 5-clicks and watching a screen to get from auto setting to a constant setting.

This means while I drive and want a constant speed I have to 5-click/look at screen into DOWNPOUR. Then at a stop light that’s too fast and I have to at least 2-click/look at screen to get to SHOWER. Then 2-click/look at screen when I start moving

And all of this UI distraction is happening under impaired visual conditions.

It’s rained here for 3 days and this is my life every time I’m in the car lately.

You do not need to spray the washer, a half press on the washer button swipes the window, a full press sprays the water.

For the most part auto worked ok but I did have to initiate a few swipes.

Thanks for the tip. I abuse the half press one-shot frequently. too frequently.

Did I post a water spray video? I did on my service ticket. I’ve been annoyed by this all day so I’m losing track.

The "water video" is demonstrating a grinding sound coming from the left wiper motor and i wanted to prove that it wasnt a dry wiper dragging over dry glass.

The grinding sound comes and goes. I don’t know why.

mine goes off when I pull into the garage at night (with a dry windshield) but otherwise seems to work okay.

The false wipes are interesting, I wonder if dust or light source type or placement has something to do with it. As far as frequency, I tend to think that’s pretty subjective to each driver. My R1T’s wipers work great for me. But my wife isn’t nearly as patient. The Auto wipers in a friends VW drive me nuts, but he thinks there perfect.

When the Windshield Wiper is set to Auto I find the following:
1. When there is rain sitting on the windshield the wipers often don't trigger.
2. Sometimes when there is no rain and the windshield is clear the wipers will still trigger.
Agreed, sunny day and i drive into my garage and they will swipe. Low and medium auto still each over and under wipe. So I have not found a benefit to the multiple auto settings.

This is my experience exactly, but the only thing that really bothers me is they are not sensitive enough to light rain cover on windshield and feel like they don't activate quickly enough. I find myself constantly bumping the washer button at end of stalk to get a single wipe in light rain / road mist. It's to the point where I feel it's a little dangerous in these conditions to wait for the sensor activation, as the windshield becomes too obscured. Hopefully, it's not a sensor issue and is the sensitivity can just be adjusted via a SW update, or better yet, give the user/owner ability to adjust sensitivity themselves.
Agree but I think they gave us the ability to adjust sensitivity with the three levels of auto wipe. Right?

Yes I made this post over a year ago….but with a recent update we now have auto wiper sensitivity options :)
