What's everyone preference? I know Rivian sells the Fatcats and the OEM bars are made by Yakima. Both Thule and Yakima can be mounted via straps or t-slots. Some reviews mentioned the Yakima whistles and locking mechanism is prone to freezing. While the Fatcats are aesthetically rounder, Thule appears to be just as streamlined. Will be mounting on a R1S.

My experience with FatCat 4 on Tesla was great, never any freezing and the lock and system is super ergonomic and never froze (even in -18°C)
upgraded to the FatCat 6 although now I’m eyeing the Exo system.

I have the Fatcat Evo 6 over the bed of my R1T and they’re great. They use the same lock cores as the crossbars, so I have them keyed alike. I don’t have any whistling and they have zero range impact, but they’re not mounted on the roof where I’d expect any open carry skis to have minor issues.

I also used the fatcat 6 last season (R1T) and liked them. No stability issues or cabin noise even on a 10 hour drive up to Montana. However, I did have a few freezing instances, but now I just keep and electric kettle handy.
