I wonder if we'll start seeing Yellow R1Ts around soon? I doubt they set up the paint to only spray one vehicle on the line
They’ve been batching colours, but their line can paint any colour out of sequence.

Ahh, the yellow looks as good as I hoped.

On a less related note, why is this $2500? Tesla and Rivian’s paint options are insanely expensive, even compared to luxury brands. At least the colors aren’t restricted between trims.

Not sure why so expensive but at least they offer some real colors and not just white, black and various shades of silver/gray.

True that. Though, I’ve been thinking about it, and $2500 would go pretty far toward a complete wrap and then I could pick any color of my heart’s desire.

Because it's the brand's premium colors. Seriously, the vehicle cost $67k to start, why does $2.5k bother someone? Think it's too much? Then take white and have it painted in the color you want. It doesn't matter as paint jobs for a vehicle this price range and type of work will come out to about the same price Rivian is charging for Compass Yellow and Rivian Blue anyways.

I wonder if it was just delivered. The car is pristine...no dirt at all on the fenders, no built up snow around the wheels, even the windows look perfectly clean.

Dark rims are definitely the way to go for Team Yellow. Looks great especially with the black roof of the R1S! Not for me, but still a great color combo.
That’s my configuration!

Out of curiosity, is there anything Rivian has done that you don’t agree with?

Off the top of my head -
1)Their communication skills leaves lacking.
2)For a $75K+ vehicle, R1S should come with an OEM rear tire door/swivel rack for spare tire storage
3)For a $75k+ vehicle, R1S should have a full spare tire available to it akin to how it is for the R1T. Fuggetabout that inflatable caca doughnut of a spare
4)Rivian should have been co-developing and deploying the 135 & 180 kwh batteries simultaneously instead of releasing just the 135 kwh for now.

There are more, but they're all related to me acknowledging Rivian is only 5 months in production mode, so they get a soft "pass" (in the sense of, ok, it's too early. But GET YOUR ASSES IN GEAR FOR IT).

The extra $1000 charge probably means it has a tinted clear coat, which costs more to apply than a standard clear coat. The $1500 upcharge on everything but LG, white, and silver is just because they chose to make those colors non-standard.

Depends on where you are - my MachE full color change wrap with a couple stripes and ceramic coat was $6000 in the PNW.

That said; my wife ordered our R1S in this color; can’t wait!
