Correct, but it is used colloquially for wheel. We can be as pedantic as we want, but I think we can all agree on is that wheel ≠tire.Wheel = rim, spoke, hub as a unit. The rim is only the outer part of the wheel.

Agree on the last part, but it's not pedantic to be correctly semantic.Correct, but it is used colloquially for wheel. We can be as pedantic as we want, but I think we can all agree on is that wheel ≠tire.

Would you mind explaining a bit what your are talking about here? I'm thinking of going for the 21's due to the increased range. Is there a downside?$1k for the AT upgrade doesn't seem like a bad option for those of us who don't want 21". Then I don't have to flip the 21". Then dump the ATs for All Seasons at the first opportunity.
Same boat.I'm really leaning towards no on R2, at least for now that the options have prices.
Rant over from somewhere over the Atlantic on my way to London, I really wanted to be excited for this day but I'm just not feeling it.
Also, all terrain tires are usually more expensive than all seasons.Lower take rate...
Pirelli also could have cut them a massive deal on those $440 21" tires figuring they would make it back on 2nd and 3rd sets. Lots more competition in the 20" size.

Because R2 is not R1. It is not inline with the competition in this market segment.Interesting that everyone is focused on paint pricing. Excluding the LG that was free on the R1 LE, the other colors are less than the R1 colors were.
Seems like no one is factoring in the 3450 saved with the lifetime Autonomy+ at 2500 and the tow package at 950.
To me the LE package is a well optioned vehicle with pricing at the low end of the range I expected when I put my deposit down. The LE in White is 58,990, in CA that puts me out the door right around 65,500. That is well under the 75k I budgeted for.
How could one not be when the closest direct competitor has that option largely identical option for $695 -- a full 1/3 the price? How could one not be when the R2 color options are more expensive than most of the Porsche Taycan options - a EV that costs twice of what an R2 costs?Interesting that everyone is focused on paint pricing.
Im unsure why you and others feel this way. I built an iX3 and it was mid $70s to get it to R2 LE level of equipment….and it’s way slower. I’ll pass. R2 is a steal.Same boat.
This feels very different than when the R1 configurator was launched. Those paint prices are egregious. Launch Green was included with R1. Any wheel selection was included with R1.
If they don't let me use the limited amount of referral pesos that I've saved up, I think I'm opt out of an R2 despite the fact it probably makes financial sense to do so with OSEV.
I might just opt for the iX3 configured how I want it with over 100 miles more range and 100kW+ faster charging for a couple of bucks more.

Again, the iX3 has cheaper paint options but they charge for basically EVERYTHING else. It’s absolutely not a better value. How could one not be when the closest direct competitor has that option largely identical option for $695 -- a full 1/3 the price? Everyone is free to spend their money in any way they wish, and this pricing may be OK with some, but let's not act surprised with folks not seeing value here.
This is a miss by Rivian. It has turned what should be a celebratory day into a bit of a sour day for more reservation holders than we care to admit.
