My early Tesla Model 3 included a charging kit with 6-50 plug. I see the Riven charger does not have that available. The current Tesla model also does not have a 6-50 plug. My son's Hyundai charger doesn't have the 6-50 either. Of course I wired a 6-50 for my welder and kiln and there is no room in the conduit for an un-needed neutral. Is there a charging kit with a 6-50 plug option? At the amp load I don't want to run a cheap adapter.

Thanks

Why can't you use a Tesla charger to charge the Rivian? Older versions might have compatibility issues with gen2 R1s. But the newest version shouldn't. The actual charger is built into the car. The external "charger" is just a power supply.

April 2018 Model 3 charger won't work with Hyundai, I assume also won't work with Rivian. I have Ver 2.0 HPWC that "May" work if I flip dip switch #2 Tesla says. There is CAN bus data passed back and forth. I was surprised that the NAC "Standard" has at least 2 incompatible versions. The NACS Hyundai can't charge at the old superchargers.

People call it all NACS, but there are versions. Technically Tesla has their own versions. And then there's SAE's J3400, which has been adopted by the other OEMs.

Is that a gen1 UMC? I have a gen2 Tesla UMC from October 2019 and it works fine to charge multiple EVs. I put my Tesla UWC into compatibility mode to charge the Rivian, but it's not needed for a Mach-E.

v2 superchargers won't charge anything but a Tesla.

My Gen1 Tesla Mobile Connector that came with my 2016 Model S, works better with my Gen2 R1T than the current Gen2 Tesla Mobile Connector. The Gen1 always connects no issues, but the Gen2 requires I unplug the power, and plug it back in before connecting to the Rivian, otherwise it won't charge. I've tried a couple Gen2 Tesla UMC and they both do the same thing.

I’ve used a cheap adapter for years.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083LRJ4DP
Same.

5-6 years ago when we got our L2 circuit installed, I went with a simpler N6-50. Had an L2 and a modular mobile that would work directly.

Years later I wound up switching over to my BMW "portable" charger, it's modular, but no N6-50 option, so I just used an N14-50-to-N6-50 adapter, been running fine for years now.

When a Hubbel outlet alone is $60 there is no way that for $26 you can get something that has both a plug and receptical that can safely deal with 40 continuous amps for hours. Lots of reports of $20 non-commercial recepticals failing over time. It's probably OK to run your RV short term low demand load with one of these, but not 5 hours of 40 amps over and over. https://www.amazon.com/Hubbell-9450A-50a-120-volt-Receptacle/dp/B00EN9VO7W

But the Tesla adapter at $35 is perfectly safe right?
