CYA!

Many of your complaints/dealbreakers are longstanding Rivian things that will not be changed.

I don’t think the Rivian brand/product is for you.

Best of luck

Goodbye. Your useful contributions will be missed.
Honestly I value that kind of post far more than fanboy cheerleading. Looking for all possible considerations even if I’ll dismiss many of them.

Right now my wince list is lack of adventurous/onboard FM & XM receivers, AT tires that are uniquely not 3PMSF, no steel roof option, and removal of amber rear turn signals. YMMV.

  • The sales rep straight up couldn’t answer any intermediate level questions, and just seemed in a rush to get back to his desk in the empty waiting room.
Yeah... As a sales guy myself, if you researched all of the things you didn't like about my product before then coming in for a demo of said product, likely to tell me about the things you don't like about my product, I would be more than eager to get back to my desk, too.

FYI, Google owns Waze and it's already well incorporated into Google Maps.

I read through your list and it sounds like the one car you definitely do NOT want is a Model Y. It also sounds like the vehicle that would best tick all the boxes is the iX3. Let me help:

CarPlay (your #1) - Tesla No, BMW Yes
Accessories - Tesla yes, BMW even yes-er with a global fan base
Wheels to maximize Range - Model Y is child's play... 425 miles on 21 inch summer tires in the BMW nuf said
Metal Roof - Tesla no BMW Yes
Two pedal - BMW has literally the best braking system invented if that is your thing
Autonomy - BMW far advanced vs current Rivian and you do not have to pay an extra $5000 over the first four years to use it like you do with Tesla
Infotainment - all available now
Scroll Wheels - Old school you're good
Comes in Watermelon Green - Tesla no even more boring colors, BMW Yes! (Well, eucalyptus green but I think a eucalyptus is very close to a watermelon and you can even order with a red interior to go full watermelon)

Bonus, BMW's CEOs abandoned national socialism in 1945 and issued a formal public apology in 2016 so well ahead of Tesla on that front as well.

You're welcome.

Of course you would. People like you (and the OP) are only here to shit on what you perceive as R2s weaknesses without ever saying anything good about it.

I must say…I’m genuinely curious why you bothered to post such a long winded message about all the things you didn’t like about the R2…on a Rivian forum.

I’ve owned mine for almost 2 years, and absolutely love it. I’ve also been a member here for a little longer, and not once have I felt the need to list out all the things I love about my R1T.

So, why make the effort? It comes off as either a “look at me“ moment, or some other ulterior motive (a Tesla fanboy, or you’re shorting the Rivian stock). But again…don’t you have better things to do? What exactly do you hope to accomplish by telling us how much you dislike this vehicle?

Absolutely hilarious to me that's your only response. Enjoy whatever crap you're actually driving.

  • Lack of a 19" wheel option with the Launch Edition. I want to be able to maximize range, and to do that I need the smallest, lightest possible wheel. I asked about buying a set of 19" wheels, and I was told not to bother doing so by the salesperson.
This could be a deal breaker for me. Larger, heavier, less efficient wheels, with more expensive tires to replace? NO THANK YOU.

Garage door opener? 😁😁😁
I don't know anyone who puts it as #1 feature.on a car. Buy a $30 remote and stick it some where, under the dash perhaps with some double sided tape. Way better than any software buttons. Some are valid points , but some are just funny.
