LE are being hit with it, you only need to go into your account; pricing has been updated.
I get that. Still, as a LE reservation holder, I'd take it step further and directly contact them.

I have unfortunately officially cancelled.

I’m not too concerned about a price increase. I could’ve tolerated a $4000-$5000 increase to be honest, but I’m up to $16K more and I’m end of 2023 holder.

My biggest issue there is another 24 months in between here and my delivery with war, inflation, global pandemic and another million other things that I’m sure will see another $5K-$10K bump for now a $100K-$110K R1S that was originally in the $70Ks.

Will most likely pick up a ā€˜23 Discovery or a new RRS. Model X is not an option for me. Any other comparable suggestions?

I'm an R1s launch edition customer. Opps correct that. I am a former R1S launch edition customer. Raising my price from $75.500 to $91,000. No F-ing way. good bye RJ. That's such bs and with that I am getting my $1000 back and hoping the next person who takes my place will enjoy the R1$. Oh my god, what a f-ing rip off.

2023 R1S; Toyota Highlander Hybrid
As our production continues to ramp up, we want to share new information that affects your Rivian preorder.

Vehicle base pricing and the cost of certain options, upgrades and accessories have increased. All packages of the R1S will now only be offered in a 7-seat configuration.

We’re in the process of updating your Rivian Account page to reflect these adjustments and we will send you an email notification when the update is complete. Until then, all product and pricing updates can be viewed in our configurator.

These price increases — the result of inflationary pressure on the cost of supplier components and raw materials across the world — will allow us to maintain product excellence as we continue investing in electrification for our shared future. We remain committed to offering compelling products and helping drive competition, inspiring as many drivers as possible to switch to electric vehicles.

To that end, today we’re also announcing the introduction of Rivian Dual-Motor AWD for both R1T and R1S. Dual-Motor AWD features one motor for each axle for exceptional power and control. The system is designed to excel both off-road and on-road, going from 0-60 mph in as few as 4.0 seconds while still delivering all-wheel traction. Deliveries are planned to begin in 2024. We are also introducing our 260+ mile range Standard battery pack, with deliveries planned to begin in 2024.* Dual-Motor AWD and Standard battery pack are available now in our configurator, where you can find more information on each.

We’re grateful to you for being an early supporter of Rivian and helping drive the EV movement towards an enduring and livable world. If you have any questions about your preorder, we’re here to answer them.

Thank you again for being on this journey with us.

— Team Rivian
Yep, my config went from just under 80k to 97k with one stroke of your pen. However, with a single click of my pad I have cancelled my order and fired you guys. What a horrible way to start a relationship with a customer you haven't even served! Keep your vehicle Rivian, there are plenty of great looking and capable electrics coming to market, which we can get sooner than your delayed (14 months and counting...) and unproven product.

I'm definitely scared to comment here ?

But before I share, I just wanted to say that I feel for everyone affected by the price increases. Even if you knew it could happen, it sucks to hear this so close to delivery - especially if you need a new vehicle or got rid of you old one.

I got very, very lucky.

Won't be lucky when the company is bankrupt in 2 years with no one to service your discounted Rivian. But good luck.

Call anyways. Be polite, but tell them it's BS to raise prices only on those LE orders who haven't heard from guides yet. It's not fair and management should have to confront it.

I do think this makes total business sense. Prices have skyrocketed the past year, so keeping prices they had before that doesn't make sense.
That's true to an extent. But start up businesses often take losses for the first few years as they build up a happy customer base and brand image.

I think they'd have been better off, long term, taking the hit on the existing pre-orders (or at least not raising them the full amount). Consider it a cost of marketing for the good will and positive word of mouth. They've made enemies today out of allies. Not a good move.

Side Note: Do you know how Fed Ex finally caught traction?

The owners told their very small staff that they were empowered to make any decisions necessary to make their customers happy. This was when they literally had maybe a few dozen customers.

A woman called because she needed her wedding dress overnighted. FedEx had no planes of their own, yet. The employee, after trying several cheaper solutions to no avail, CHARTERED A PRIVATE JET to get that wedding dress to the woman in time for her wedding!

That story hit world wide news and the orders started pouring in.

True story. I heard it from the owner, himself.

Ask the owners if it was worth it spend take a several thousand dollar loss to send that one dress?

I know the losses would be higher for Rivian, but I still think they'd have come out ahead.

There is no solid, 100% confirmation of this. Things look bad, but not bleak enough that bankruptcy is an assured outcome. Please stop the Chicken Little'ing/over exaggeration

I think people are jumping the gun a bit by cancelling. What difference does it make now to wait a bit? What other truck / suv has this level of performance at this price? You cant take a Model X offroad, it will break. This will still smoke just about every performance truck or SUV out there.

Dont get me wrong, the way Rivian has handled pr is epic failure and price increases always suck. Cant get my mind around some people getting a pass and not others. Like WTF. But this is still a great value IMO.

So they said they'd release a timeline estimator on the website, and they haven't yet. But they jumped on updating the price within hours of the pricing email.

Rivian continues to do all the wrong things to their potential customers and people who've been in the line for so long. Gotta question their ethics.

They are making terrible operational mistakes, and sticking the price tag of their continued poor middle management and upper management mistakes to their customers.

This is next level BS, and Elon got all the divide and attention just for his tweets, where's the accountability for Rivian?

I'd been a Rivian supporter all these years, and they've time and again proven only to disappoint, falter and under-deliver.

Does that mean is worth $100K just because of that? NO.

If you seriously think Rivian is going to back track on the price increase I have some $10K LE reservations to sell you
tesla backtracked on 50-80% increases on the Solar Roof. Guess who doesn’t have a solar roof because I lost it.
