Thanks for the video, i always love the RivianTracker videos. Overall this pretty well aligns with what i have noticed as well. Turn arrows are still a struggle, no yellow, a bit of lag, lane change didn't always work as i noticed on more narrow or somewhat curved roads. But I really liked how he opened the video...can i see point to point by end of year, not yet is my opinion. I'm looking forward to Rivian OS 2.0 though...and of course, a native Amazon music app.

I've also been really late to get updates before. Since they roll them out in batches it's just luck of the draw. I've been one of the first and one of the last, usually I'm pretty squarely in the middle. If you have something like RivianRoamer you can see the waves and how many it's released to.

The Short Version

1. Connect+ moves you up, not to the front — still ~3 days from release
2. Rollouts happen on business days — no weekend or holiday pushes
3. Parking on WiFi won't get you flagged sooner — flagging is Rivian's call; WiFi just speeds up the download after
4. Queue position is random — location, order date, mileage don't matter
5. The Rivian app won't show anything at flagging — it waits until download completes; Rivian Roamer alerts earlier"

For instance it's only flagged out to 43% and installed on 40% of fleet right now on Roamer.

If you get TSA PreCheck do you get a lineless experience?

It moves you earlier, not first. It divides the population into two cohorts. Connect+ and non-Connect+. The Connect+ cohort goes first, not all at once though. Then the non-Connect+.

From the Connect+ support page it says "Priority software updates", which is different than instant.

No, it isn't. Connect+ puts you in the early window - along with 80% of other Rivian owners. They still deploy in waves, and have never said Connect+ = updates in the first 2 days.

Hmm … perhaps I had that + when I found out gear guard “off at home” was turned on after the update.

I've had instances where folks without Connect+ got their updates before me, with Connect+. It is still done in waves as said above.

More importantly, why do you care so much? It is totally out of your control and cannot influence the outcome. Frankly, the vehicle was and is fulfilling our needs now. When update comes, it comes.

The only thing I wish Rivian would let us do is once it's available, to be able to schedule it by date and time. Twice in the last year, I've been pushed updates while on the road trip. I have no intentions of updating while on the road in case there is an issue with the SW. Instead of bugging me every time I get in the vehicle, let me schedule it once and don't bug me again.

I thought the same but I've been through every app and every menu in the settings app and it persists -- I'll do a reset later today to see if it goes away.
