There was an anecdote on FB where someone had to get a tow after a DC fast charging issue that resulted in a smell:
Plugged in to the NACS RAN, charged for a few minutes and stopped. When it stopped, the cabin filled with a rotten egg / sulphur smell. Tried another stall, again no joy and the cabin again filled with that awful smell. We decided to have it towed after the urging of the Rivian tech we spoke with.

My seatbelt wouldn't extend so I could put it on after this, lol.

Yeah, he's still waiting for parts to arrive at the SC for a fix, but they're not giving him many details beyond that.

Has anyone experienced issues with the capacitive touch button for the rear window?

I picked up my R2 last Friday from the Milpitas Service Center. The vehicle has been excellent, however, this morning I noticed that the press / hold the touch button isn't rolling up the rear window.

I thought the issue might be that the vehicle was asleep. I opened one of the car doors and then tried again. Still nothing.

The rear window can be opened / closed with the button in the vehicle.

Going to try again a couple of more times today. If the issue still occurs, I'll open a support ticket

FYI - The captive touch button for the frunk works fine

Just to confirm, to roll up the window you must press and hold. To roll down the window you just have to press firmly for one second.

Interesting. I had a small paint defect flagged at delivery that I will eventually take in to have fixed. At that time, I plan to give them a laundry list of small issues to inspect and this will be one of them
When you do, could you report back here on that list and what they did?

Did you recently download the latest update? That caused an issue with the rear hatch on mine to not open until the vehicle did a sleep cycle. Then all was fine.

I hated it when I demo'd the R2. But what I've been told since is that it's not a capacitive button--it's pressure activated. I was told NOT to treat it like a capacitive button, and instead push on it like a normal button. Not sure if that'll work, but it's what a couple early owners have said.

Rivian messaged me yesterday promising to call me today with what their diagnostics found how long to fix.

They just called and basically said a lot of words to basically say that they still have no idea what’s causing the problem or what parts are needed. 🫠

I’ve had the same experience as you (and others). I have limited, but more, success with getting the windows down. Up is a whole other bag of spaghetti. I’ve done a couple of reboots (to resolve other issues) but no consistency with the touch hamburger. I’ll revisit trouble shooting on my own when this heat wave settles down.

I’ll take any advice out there on technique or methods to the madness.
