Why are reviewers not talking about this - other than the obvious reason that they are more interested in getting free boondoggles to Spain than telling like it is.
We're in the phase of what I call 'press release reviews' - shills are expected to lavish praise in return for free travel, lodging, meals, punch and pie. Otherwise they don't get invited next time.

Wait for the comparison tests - those are usually more grounded.

Cool thing mentioned in the OoS EX60 drive review video that appeared today -- first I ever heard of the Volvo Overseas Delivery Tourist program, although maybe not news to others here.

If you put down a non-refundable $6000 deposit on certain Volvo models, Volvo will (1) buy you two r/t airfares to Sweden and put you up in a hotel for a bit, (2) deliver your car to you at the factory, (3) let you Thelma+Louise it around Europe for up to two months (minus airborne activities) then (4) ship it to the US for normal destination charges. Wow. EX60 is not yet on the list of approved models but looks like it belongs there and presumably will be added, unless the OoS video is a total tease.

Still doesn't make me want to ditch our R2 res, but when we replace our Ioniq5 in a few years I will give this some very serious consideration if the program's still around.

I really wanted to do something like this with our R2 on the US mainland before shipping it to Honolulu, but it turns out the private ocean-shipping details have their little devils, plus we have some family responsibilities at the moment which could make this difficult. Seems like Volvo is at least providing a pretty solid shipping solution.
My understanding is automakers like Volvo and Porsche are not doing European delivery for EVs because of charger compatibility. Not sure if you are able to charge a NCAS EV in Europe even with an adapter. I know this is why Porsche has not allowed Macan EVs or Taycans to have Euro delivery.

Volvo confirmed they are for EX60. They didn’t before because non of the EVs were built at Gothenburg. They will give an adaptor to use.

Good review from Thomas and Leah over at autogefuehl today. TLDW:
  • The P10 held a 370kw charge and completed 10% - 80% in 16 minutes!
  • P10 range of 335 at 60 mph and 260 miles at 80 mph
  • P12 got 410 mi and 316 mi at 60mph / 80 mph
  • iX3 got 450 mil and 340 mi at 60mph / 80 mph
  • GLC was 330 and 280 at at 60mph / 80 mph
  • Volvo very quiet, good ride (better than BMW), average ADAS, excellent efficiency
The P10 at $59k is a pretty nice package.

Pretty sure p10 is 61k, wish Volvo would get it together, v60 electric would be amazing, but their mmi is god awful

That’s good news for BMW. The elusive 400 mile range is theirs, absent Lucid.

Mercedes as well is pushing that 400 mile mark but still doesn't have the pricing for the US market. But agree, BMW wins big here

The thing for me is having that range for road tripping is just more convenient. I drive the I5 from SoCal to NoCal which is about 415 miles. The spacing of superchargers, and not wanting to freak my wife (or myself) out with 5% SOC to get somewhere with decent food and superchargers leads us to drive her 2021 RAV4 Prime. In reality, that works out well. But a no worry, 250 mi range at 75-80 mph would be sweet. That traffic can really move on the I5 sometimes (when it’s not gridlocked.)

75-80 on that I5 stretch is always sketchy because thats the speed on the right. I'm always around 85-90 on the left passing all those trucks that throw up rocks. Hate that drive...

The iX5 looks to me like it is going to be the road trip master, but I have a soft spot for the iX4.

I always liked the size of the EX40 but it was expensive and now pretty outdated. Excited to see the new EX50 next year.

These EVs seem like they'd be great for most people, but with only about 7 inches of ground clearance, this and the iX3 don't have much meaningful extra capability over my current EV, and both have substantially less interior space than the R2. If you pick one up, I hope you enjoy it!

Agree on this. Its just a tall car and if i'm giving up handling, i'm going to a much bigger format like the R2. I'd rather have my sporty sedan than a crossover.
