@kommonplace I'm in the same place. This is a huge expense and I'm not going "adventuring" anytime soon, if ever, but I'm a car nut, ev owner, and appreciate what Rivian offers. The question will be can they deliver before I get a shot at a similarly priced Evalanche.

There are a lot of reservation holders who are still not comfortable fully trusting Rivian again, and a lot of the comments in this thread aren't about entitlement. They're about steps that Rivian should do to rebuild that trust.
We're talking about buying a luxury car here, not the start of a marriage. I don't "fully trust" Rivian just as I don't fully trust any other automaker or company that I choose to do business with. I'm still going to buy my R1S because it's an incredible deal at the price we're being offered and I'll gladly fork over a few hundred or thousand dollars more to get the color/wheels/options I decide that I want when my turn in line comes up.

Many thanks. I did select Adventure Package, so presumably the cover will be included as it originally was. Glad that I ordered my R1T with "the Works" so that I don't have any regrets about how Rivian may handle reconfigurations for grandfathered reservations.
NB I noticed it was missing from my configuration. Went to add it back on, but noticed the note in the email stating any changes could delay delivery. So I checked with customer service. They told me the reason it was removed was as I mentioned - it’s because there are multiple options now.

they added it back on for me, said the note about changes affecting delivery was “something we tell everyone” ?

I just spoke with CS, they said I will be able to switch from R1T to R1S if I want to at the old price.

This was what I was told as well. I'm hoping this is true for myself as I had cancelled and am having my order reinstated. Were you a cancellation?

No, I hadn’t got much further than my email to RJ before they made the change back.

I just got off a chat with CS. You can change your colors and shit once they sort stuff out on their end. Everyone disarm and do some yoga or something.
Don't say that....the greedy people want to make sure they can get there greedy paws on options they normally wouldn't have purchased. Give the sheep an inch and they want a mile. Suddenly their configured model isn't good enough. Surprise surprise. ?

My chat this am

To put it plainly, you can either choose the pricing and set of options available before Feb 28th (when price increases took place) OR you can choose the pricing and set of options from after. So you can always choose all the same options you had access to (specifically except for the 5-seat R1S which is now no more) but if you want, say, a dual motor vehicle, you would have all of the options at the new higher prices.
Ok - so as long as you don't choose something new - like dual motor you're using all the pre 3/1 pricing

Yes, exactly. Also admittedly we are slowly getting more answers here as this is a pretty recent and vast change. So I only got what I shared with you above earlier today. We appreciate patience as we're sort of working through this all. (bold my emphasis)

Honestly, it seems to me like they got the message that their comms need to be better and that they’re working on it. As much as it might kill those of you who like to traumatize yourselves, maybe give them the benefit of the doubt?

How dreamy would it be if Rivian parked eight R1Ts and an R1S or two showing all the color options for two to three days at service centers and the locations where they planned to have first drives to allow pre-order holders to drop by and see the trucks and finalize the colors?

Just had a word with customer engagement on the phone as well, and confirmed what others have been hearing:

Pre 3/1/22 orders will revert to the old configurator, and pricing for options including paint, interiors and accessories will revert to the old pricing. We will be able to change configs without incurring the new prices. The only thing that does incur new pricing is if we change battery packs or drivetrains (his words).

Giant eye roll. That’s just a completely unnecessary comment that’s bordering on a direct personal attack on members of this community.

Has anyone actually seen their pricing revert to the old pricing in their account? I have been waiting because I expected it to roll back prior to the earnings call but mine still shows the higher amounts.

The letter that I posted to start this thread says "We expect this could take several weeks." This being getting the pricing updated to include old and new.

They're working on it, and have said it will likely take a few weeks. Patience.
