Greg, You might try checking with your Guide. When I told mine I sent a Wire, instead of using Plaid, he checked my upload and said it was good. It stayed pending all day/night, until this morning. I'm not sure who does the approval. I suspect you're right about step 7 being completed before you can unlock step 8......Edit: I see in a post above where it's not necessary to complete step 7 before unlocking step 8, but all steps must be completed before delivery will be made.
Step 7 changed last night to complete with no “pending approval”. Phew!

My guide said what others have noted here that Step 8 can be unlocked while 5 and 7 are pending. My scheduling step is still locked. Besides actual vehicle readiness (arriving, inspecting, cleaning, updating, etc.) I‘d think the registration and title process is a PITA for them. Especially if they’re trying to do it from a state other than where they’re delivering to like they would in my case, staging in GA and delivering to NC. Maybe there are local agents they can engage for that stuff these days.

I know, I was relieved too.

....My scheduling step is still locked.....
Mine is too. I was told my truck is in transit, but I should receive it early next week. I feel you probably will also.

Spoke to my guide yesterday and did a test drive. My guide basically told me that if I switched to BM interior I'd get the vehicle very quickly. I asked during the test drive if all the trucks on the lot were assigned to customers and was told no, so perhaps a choice of LG/BM would get me a truck next week. I didn't like the BM and am willing to wait a while for OC. My guide couldn't say how long a delay that would be, but apparently checked with the production folks and was told I'd still get my truck in my March/April window. I'd be OK waiting a bit longer, but if it were to be end of summer or later I might bite the bullet. I also decided to switch to FG from LG, and was told that shouldn't incur any additional delay.

I can't help but wonder if the calls asking folks if they want to switch to BM means that they produced too many for now, and that might prompt them to switch to OC. Pure speculation on my part though.

I was also told that the kitchen/shuttle had indefinite delays and would be removed from my order, but that I'd be able to get them later at the $5k price. I believe others have been told the same.

Another tidbit I got during the test drive was that in Conserve mode it starts out as front wheel drive, but at some speed I don't recall (50 or 55?) it switches to rear wheel drive. This was the first and only time I've heard this.

Congrats!!!

I'm still waiting on scheduling. I am trying very hard to be patient but the last 48 hours has felt like the last 3 years combined. I am hoping I get an email by Monday morning. Step 7 was completed on Thursday

As far as I can tell there have been few if any deliveries into New England. I haven’t heard of any guide contact to a NE reservation holder either.

Maybe, like much of America, the Rivian guys hate the Patriots?

For all of those who have waited years, and still waiting.... trust me it is worth the wait.
Having been a Tesla model S owner for years, and a Ram 1500 owner, all I can say this truck is just incredible. I was surprised that it is faster than my MS 100D even with the 20's. And the ride quality is unlike any truck I have ever driven.

Anyone stuck at Step 7/8 and not getting much intel on delivery date? I paid for the vehicle already. You would think that we can schedule delivery once we paid for the truck. I'm hearing I'm still a March/April delivery....how is that possible when I already paid for the truck? Shouldn't they have better insight on when the truck will be delivered?
I wondered this too, I paid for mine on Wednesday of this week , and the quid said I was so fast (2 days) getting through the 7 steps the deliverer would open soon. 1 day later she scheduled delivery for this Monday.

Did you get an email that Step 8, Schedule Delivery, was open? Or did she just do it for you while it was still locked...

I guess over-producing BM is a possibility, but it's more likely that there is a supply constraint on OC. There is a shortage of titanium dioxide, a white pigment. The referenced article is about artists paint, but TiO2 is also heavily used to make white plastics, uh, I mean vegan leather.

"A shortage of titanium dioxide, the pigment for titanium white and a fundamental ingredient in about a third of artist paints, also puts other colors at risk."
