Hopefully someone designs a dashboard tray that doesn't look hideous and attaches in a removable manner without damaging the polyurethane. I appreciate how clean it looks, but I would trade that aesthetic for some practicality.

I am curious if you have done this? It would be interesting to see what you could do with the printer... It might help to add some storage to the center console for smaller things? Maybe a sliding tray or something?
I don't have a 3D printer so no i haven' t done it, just saying people smarter then me could probably create something cool.

Question for other owners:

In trying to set my "Home" in the navigation app, when I enter my real mailing address it's showing up about 600 feet down the street on the map. While not a huge issue, it gets quirky when using the gear guard setting to be on when "Away from Home". It's still recording at Home when it's not supposed to. Is there a way to use "Current Location" to set the "Home" position in the navigation app?
Not defending this quirk but in the meantime just try and pick an address that’s closer to actual location. A current location button makes total sense as there are plenty of places where I’d probably want to automatically not use it

-Rear legroom, everyone talked how great it was with adults, but with toddlers in carseats. Legroom is very tight.
Please tell me more about this!! It’s my biggest concern and I’m in an area where I haven’t been able to see one in person yet. I’ll be rocking a rear-facing toddler seat and a booster for a few more years, and I’m worried that the transition from a Yukon to an R1T is going to drive me crazy. How far forward do you need to slide the front seats to get toddlers comfortable in the back?!? ?

Same issue here. I've never seen one in person, even if I did I probably wouldn't of thought twice about it until I actually put the car seat back there.
I'm 6 ft . A booster seat is better, but with those front facing younger toddlers their feet is ON the backrest. They don't ride with me long distances, but I do move the seat a bit forward when they're back there. From the yukon you will certainly loose interior space, I think the novelty of having the gear tunnel took a lot of space away from the cabin. Another thing, the underseat storage isn't useable with carseats mounted on top. Would be nice to have a slide out style storage back there.

Same issue I have with the built-in Spotify app in my wife's Traverse - no option to change playback speed for podcasts. It makes the app unusable for that purpose, since I normally listen at 1.5x speed, so I have to use Bluetooth for playback.

Few issues
Agree about the driver seat not going done far enough. Back seat is not as roomy as a true crew cab. I could sit comfortably behind driver in my gmc sierra but not in the rivian.
Also with the cover closed on the bed it is not as tall. Couldnt close the cover with a full size hard shell coleman cooler in the back.

All together no major issues just tweaks but really liking how it drives and looking forward to more adventures

Yeah not sure why they aren’t using that pocket or the center console. It’s the most baffling complaint about the car. There are so many places to store things Rivian even put out an Instagram video about it today.
i think the designers were thinking "adventure" when they designed the storage in the R1T not "daily driver". thats why the center console is so large/deep, the center foot well is huge but not good for small things, there's no glove box. and they were a little too influenced or cognizant of Tesla minimalist design. imo, dont think an adventure vehicle needs to be extreme minimalist.

one thing i think is bad design is the wireless charger and location. if you're going to put it there, thats prime real estate for just other more useful stuff, which it seems we need to be careful of using for other stuff like as it could get wiped by the charger. if youre going to put it there make the contact area larger because the phone is going to slide around, adventure or not. from what ive read most end up using a cable to charge. $85k vehicle with wireless charger that basically doesnt work well.

I disagree. ;)

It does seem that the complainers about the complainers are a bit much.
yeah, there's plenty of other parties on this boat. just move on if you dont like other peoples gripes.

As mentioned elsewhere their floor mats don't fully cover the carpet.

Fair points. I don’t understand having a wireless charger built in unless it’s rock solid.

Is the storage cubby under the seat not large enough for sunglasses?
Coming from a Tundra where you have three sunglass/eyeglass holders to none in my R1T is an absolute miss by Rivian. One day of ownership tells me that.....

Wireless chargers are a strange thing. I think they're a good idea when they aren't in main areas. I've seen several interiors where they put the wireless surface inside the center storage bin. That may not be ideal for many and maybe I'm not the target audience, if my phone needs to be charged on the go it really needs to be charged so I'd plug it in.

I'll be removing these mats from my order. Looks like I'm paying the same amount as quality AW mats but actually receiving subpar ones with a Rivian logo.

I’m back to just plugging in my iPhone 13 and using the wire pass through channels for the usb-c cable. As someone else pointed out, the issue is that that pad space for the phone is really where other ‘stuff’ wants to be so either you hide the phone somewhere or go back to a traditional phone mount which seems like moving in the wrong direction (this has been my Model S solution for years).

I could imagine a thicker pad where the wireless pad is now with a cut-out for one of the MagSafe (IOS) wireless chargers. This would hold the charger in place tho still plugged in.
