Not an option for me because while I'm in the garage my Bluetooth headset is how I take calls and listen to podcasts and whatnot. And btw, it's not just the garage, if I walk in the room above the garage, or the kitchen which is three walls and 20' away from the car it still unlocks and locks the car. I would have to just turn Bluetooth of permanently on my phone which is not really an option.
If you are on Android, you can pause the app. This would let you keep BT on and working but disable any functions the Rivian app is using BT for, when you're done just unpause the app. I don't know if iOS has a similar feature but if you look into digital wellbeing or whatever for either platform there is typically a way to "pause" or disable apps temporarily.

Yes! I have same gripe about the doors lock unlock. They NEED to add a touch sensitive part of the door to lock unlock. I don't think the hardware is there though, because they are relying on Bluetooth. You haven't even mentioned opening the frunk or tailgate. You'd think you can just walk up with remote in your pocket and open them.. nope! Pull out the remote, unlock all4 doors, then you can open it. Or double press.
Using PaaK, you can absolutely open the tailgate and frunk without taking anything out of your pocket. As long as the vehicle unlocks first. There is a setting in the UI that controls unlock action (i.e. drivers door only, or al doors).

2. Camp Speaker won't connect to Rivian itself, but connects fine to my cell phone. Went through customer support. Dock undock routine, pair. Still doesn't work.

3. Wristband odd functionality. It will not work at all to wake up the truck, nor unlock the doors (video was helpful), but, if I wake up the truck with my cell phone, then the wristband works perfectly......will see if wristband alone unlocks in the morning....
2. This should be coming in an OTA. Not functional right now.

3. This works for me, most of the time. NFC can be finicky on positioning, but generally works well. I have had better luck with the card.

Turn off location/GPS and that will also stop the unlock/lock
This will not help. It uses Bluetooth proximity, not location for the lock/unlock function. You can disable GPS location altogether and PaaK still works just fine.

I am completely blown away there is no button on the door to lock the car upon exit. Or a reliable passive entry. Even a 5% unlock entry fail would drive me insane. 25%...good grief. The "minor" problem the OP is having would be a nightmare for me. I'm surprised there are people here saying they are just fine and dandy old schooling it by always pulling the key out of their pocket and locking and unlocking their vehicle manually. Goes to show how dramatically different expectations are among current and future Rivian owners.
PaaK has worked for me 100% of the time.

Never understood the reason for that dimple if it doesn’t have a touch sensor. Seems pointless.
The only purpose for the dimple I can think of outside of a sensor location is that it shows where to press to manually extend the handle if you need to, similar to the fat end of the Model 3/Y door handle. It seems unnecessary for something which is purely a backup.

I’m really hoping there is a sensor in there which is currently unused. It seems so basic that it would have already been activated but maybe it was a low-priority thing that they decided could wait for an OTA update.

I think Tesla added hardware in the past which was dormant until a future update. Pretty sure the heated steering wheel for MY fell into that category.

These systems typically use some sort of key fob that requires multiple inputs such as proximity and touch to unlock the car. This is how the Stellantis vehicles I've owned work. I walk up to the vehicle with the fob in my pocket, place my hand on the door handle, and then it immediately unlocks. It works pretty well.
Yep. This is how my current Subaru Outback works and my parent's (now my sister's) Lexus works. I put the fob my pocket when I leave the house (I assume my sister does the same or puts it in her purse) and when I get home, I take it out of the pocket & put it in the faraday bag until the next time I have to drive somewhere.

Does the carabiner fob at least have passive detection? I know it doesn’t auto-unlock nor does the handle have a capacitive unlock, but can the truck tell when the fob is inside?
Not as far as I can tell.

It’s not the app that uses BT. It’s the phone that connected directly to the car. I can kill the app completely and the phone still is connected. Much like a Bluetooth speaker.

I've found the with "door closing" if one door or a window is open they all close pretty easily. If it's the last door to close and all windows are closed then it's difficult.
I wonder if they can do a software fix like Tesla does where they automatically roll the window down a smidge, so you can close it more easily, once closed it automatically rolls back up.

I think polestar has done a good job with a few connectivity hiccups along the way. They also use a touch sensitive handle for locking and unlocking which after reading this, I much prefer.

I am starting to consider going back to the max pack and waiting for this stuff to be sorted out.
For me PAAK on my polestar is so inconsistent that I have disconnected it. I just use the key and that is very reliable.

Window indexing is done for frameless windows for weather sealing, not for pressure.

Teslas actually have a hidden vent door that opens up whenever the pressure builds in the cabin. That's what makes them easier to close. Sounds like Rivian did not include this.

Could be omitted intentionally to meet water fording depth. Or there is one and it’s too small.

I have heard that from a lot of people and I guess I must be an anomaly. I have frequently showed up at my shop only to realize that I’ve forgotten my keys because the feature is so seamless for me.

That would be a great solution. Incidentally though, the windows on the R1T roll down SUPER slow. So doubt this would be a viable solution.
