Guide gave me an official R1S delay

I think Rivian really made a mistake trying to push out R1T and R1S at the same time. Really disruptive to reconfigure 1 line to produce both vehicles. Hopefully some people get their R1Ss s00n.

I fear Rivian is going to delay the R1S after the earnings call so they can avoid taking questions on it when it is fresh.

Land Rover is unveiling the 2023 Range Rover Sport on May 10, which may (hopefully) will come with a Plug-in Hybrid option that gets 40-50 miles all electric.

Despite the March/April delivery windows, the rumor I've been hearing for some time is R1S wouldn't start shipping until May. At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if that got pushed to June. It's similar to how all January/February R1T orders got pushed back into March without warning.

I have an unhealthy obsession of scouring for any information on the R1S, and agree I haven't heard of anyone into the 8 step process. In another thread there was a link viewing source code on your account page for status updates. No one with an R1S has a vehicle id yet. I would be happy to be wrong, but a delay seems likely. The question is how long?

You'd think if R1S deliveries were coming the user manual would've been released by now....

This seems reasonable. I was expecting the legal review for the manual to finish today as the last working day of April so still hopefully that by the earning call on 11 May there will be the manual, some photos/videos and deliveries by end of May. Time will tell.

I got an email from my guide stating R1S pre-order people will be given new delivery windows. To me that's an official delay.

If you want, I can wait until tomorrow at midnight when the first deliveries were promised.

A delay for you does not equate to a delay for all. Earliest R1T were later than expected as well but not all R1T were delayed. With Rivian reshuffling production, one should expect that current delivery estimates should be thrown out the, well, window.

The reason nobody liked your original thread title was because it insinuated something much larger such as Rivian stating that they were pushing all R1S delivery out until 2023. Thankfully, so far, they have not made such a statement.

Report over on Rivian Stories from another guide saying R1S are still in limited employee only deliveries, similar to what they did with the R1T and the earliest non-employee deliveries will be end of May. This is directly from their guide.
