Good luck parking the R1T there. I would be scared driving something that big around town. I will going to Japan in July for a visit.

Oh I am nerved, where we are living, there's large streets, BUT, since most are a wide sidewalk, a buddy brought a big land rover from california, and replaced mirrors more than once.

I'm curious since based on the forums a lot of folks require going to a service center vs. getting an over-the-air software update.

Id imagine having service flag his truck for an update, connect your network to a VPN in the USA and then have your truck act like its in USA for a OTA update.

As a Heads up you should let Rivian know the truck will be in japan and I am sure they will hook you up with special service POC etc. Maybe even some gear to distribute around japan (stickers etc) lol

Gonna have to wing that risk, the main point of giving Rivian service a heads up so they can do a once over before its shipped.

I was stationed just south of Tokyo from 1991-93. One of the best times of my life. Of course I also met my wife there. You'll have a blast. I was going to go back, to visit my in-laws, a couple of years ago but COVID got in the way. I'm hoping my wife can at least go visit her parents before the end of the year.

How long is the voyage for your truck? Have you worked out a way to keep the battery’s charged up during the trip.

I going through the same issue. My wife has not back in two years. But she will finally be going back in 20 days. Then 10 days after that I will be going.

ALL been great, made two trips to Hokkaido, the 50KW charging is weak, but never came across a down charger. trucks been great.
