You are right. 1,500-2,000.
That doesn’t qualify as “thousands” in my book and would still be a big F U from Rivian to R1S customers.
But it's not meant to be an F U. They're consistently repeating every time they speak publicly that they can't produce what they don't have parts for. RJ specifically said this was an issue for R1S. Reality is what it is, even if it's disappointing or frustrating.

They've reset expectations several times in the last 18 months. And we can all agree the way the communicate should be clearer. That said, they seem to be doing all they can with the cards they've been dealt.

I'm sure whatever new timeline they provide this week and in the coming months will continue to frustrate because they don't have certainty and neither will we, as their customers. So it goes.

I know that you ordered a refrigerator ... but we have freezers ready to ship. And they're even cooler!

No, thank you.
Meanwhile, some of us can't even get switched to a freezer, and newer refrigerator orders are getting delivered.

Investors should be less important than product.
Yeah, that doesn't always fly here in the US. "Shareholder value" is a BS mantra since the days of Jack Welch at GE. Wall street adored him. Employees... not so much.

RJ has also stated they had all the parts and supplies they needed to build all LE vehicles in 2022. So Rivian either lied then, is choosing to delay R1S in quantity for other reasons, or cannot follow through on the supplies it said it has.
Not all of that is necessarily Rivian’s fault but at some point fault lies with Rivian. Crap communication only makes it worse.

Maybe by the end of the week we are all pleasantly surprised and they commit to LE deliveries of R1S this year but if that was the case it was a real mistake not to say that Monday in the letter or shareholder meeting. The fact it was not referenced suggests further failures and delays.

It doesn’t fly with most publicly traded companies anywhere ?

I’ve listened to thousands of those things. The lawyers button down the language pretty tight, they select the most flattering, least informative questions to answer and avoid predictions or forward looking statements. Any good news they might have to share is saved for publicity events…

Wednesday…..
I was able to read Tony's email only after establishing that I am over 18 years of age.

After all, the message was rated "Arrrrggghhh!"

Nope, I'm staying with the S. Unless I could put a snow plow on an R1T, I'm keeping my Avalanche for plowing. I prefer having an SUV and a truck rather than two trucks.
Stay strong people….

Later this week in Rivian speak means Friday at the earliest, but probably next week or the one after. Don't pretend you don't know that.

What's most annoying about this is that they know when the email is actually going to go out. I'd be shocked if it wasn't already scheduled to be sent because there is no way they would send out the Monday communication without having everything lined up. Why not just say the day that it's going to go out? It's almost like they are intentionally vague out of spite sometimes.
