I'm in Washington State and I'm seeing this same inventory.

Yea I've strongly been suspecting these are all factory builds. Only ones that might still be showing regionally are the one-off rejects.

Edit: Having so many factory builds available just reinforces that they are running out of pre-2022 orders to fill with the materials they have on hand. I'm not saying they don't have RUSs or 20 brights, but their supplies must be much higher of the other wheel types.

This can't be true. I think they're just heavily prioritizing sending things to the shop in general.

According to these screenshots my exact build keeps showing up in the shop and for some reason they're not assigning me a VIN/truck. I'm a '21 preorder so there has to be some other reason they're ignoring folks with guides like myself in favor of sending trucks to the shop.

Either way I'm setting up a call with my guide this coming week to figure out why I'm being ignored when there's clearly a surplus of trucks to go around. Maybe it's punishment for canceling my preorder after the price increase ?

I'm not sure you aren't wrong. There are a couple other people that canceled, who are now possibly in the penalty box.

Also not sure where you live, but I think they really prioritized location since June.

Edit: I have seen a fair number of late 2021 orders getting VINs, so it's definitely happening.

How does one get access to the R1 shop? Started my 8 step process just now, just put in trade in information on my tesla. So I guess stopped out at step 3?

Do see I was assigned a vin as well.

Once you get a vin you're out of the shop queue I believe. Congrats on hitting the Rivian Lottery!

Not sure you are getting ignored, being a 2021 preorder there are probably 40k people ahead of you from 2018, 2019, and 2020. It’s possible they are trying to get more vehicles to those long time preorder holders.

Yep I’m definitely aware of this, and I was shocked when I got a guide assigned two months ago. I’m just going off of what I’ve seen online and from Rivian:

Every Rivian preorder holder will be paired with a dedicated Rivian Guide who will serve as your single point of contact from the moment your vehicle enters our production queue, for as long as you own your Rivian.

I’m really just questioning why I have a guide in the first place.

I'm going to sort of disagree. I'm guessing you already accounted for R1S and Max/Explore pack orders. If there were really that many people ahead of @sickhews, why are others with equally late orders still getting VINs? Just above @Lizardo (11/21 order) notes they just got a VIN.

To me it's a slightly less random Rivian lottery than it once was. If the line was really sequential, Rivian would be building by date. As a 8/2020 holder I have had access to the Shop since late June, but the Guide assigned to me at that time says I'm still looking at Nov/Dec for my preferred build.

More trucks are sitting longer in the Shop. To many early preorders who have access (2020 and earlier) the builds they are throwing in the Shop just aren't appealing. So it would make sense to stop putting those same builds in the Shop over and over and just assign them to the people who want them.

Of course, to me personally I would just prefer they build the trucks a lot of us want with RUS and 20s.

I think you got a guide right before Rivian rejiggered their queue system. I think that it unfortunately bumped you to the back of the line.
