First look at @ “Introducing the R1 Shop” -- Rivian website to shop for R1T that delivers in 6-8 weeks

I'm waiting for my launch green LE truck. I see two silver ones in my R1T shop both with 22s. So close but not the right color. I did see some other LE trucks about 2 weeks ago but not much since. Maybe it's a Mid-Atlantic thing.

Would you mind posting pics from the shop? Definitely not any inventory we’ve been seeing recently!!

I would totally drive 15 hours down there to get one of these. I'd jump on at least three of those in a heartbeat.

Seems like only some locations are getting shop access. As far as I am aware little if any people in the Northeast are getting R1 Shop invites either. I changed my wheels to be the 21s in hopes of getting access if and when the Northeast section starts seeing a lot of invites coming. Then I hope to see at least a few with 22s that I would snag.

I was told during my first mile that the NE right now is overwhelmed with deliveries out of the Brooklyn center being #2 in volume in the entire country.

Until more centers open up, there won’t be any “extra” vehicles really to be scheduled for delivery. Idk how true that is as everything from any given Rivian rep seems to depend on the day.

I am in San Diego and just got shop access 2 days ago. Am seeing the same slate of 12 mostly FE vehicles. My preferred config is RB/BM/21 so hopefully one will show up s00n. Surprising that none have disappeared or changed in the last 2 days.

This is the same as its been for me for the past month. The same options consistently available all the time. Two reasons:
1) Many early preorders (people with Shop access) bought into the adventure vehicle idea and want the associated underbody / 20s. Rivian is not building those trucks for the Shop. Ergo no one is buying what's in the Shop.
2) Rivian keeps pumping out these more basic builds to hit delivery numbers. They've passed the point of caring who they are delivering to. A 2018 preorder counts the same as a 2022 preorder. They will build the trucks with the parts they have to hit numbers. Same reason many suspect Max packs are distant. If you are battery contrained you can build more Large pack trucks and have higher delivery numbers.

Actually a 2022 preorder might be FAR more profitable for Rivian if the reservation was made after the price increase. so they may care…just not in the way you think.?

That may be possible since I would fall under the post 03/01/22 pre-order (03/20/22 since I procrastinated). I have seen a couple of examples in this forum to where someone ordered april/may of 2022 and got a truck at a higher price. I just had my first mile drive on 07/18/22 and drove my exact configuration GW/BM interior 21" power towneau no spare. Seems odd to me since I am a late comer here. Additionally, i have chatted with cs and they indicated that i would get a delivery window at the end of summer and a "possible" invite to the R1 shop. I will believe only it when I see it. I am located in So. Cal and about 39 miles from a service center in Costa Mesa. And yes, I am drooling over the offerings in the R1 shop lol. I highly doubt that I will be offered those vehicles at the current prices listed.

Unfortunately we will not be offered those trucks (if we ever get access to the shop) at the prices you are seeing. Add about $15k on top of the prices you are seeing in the screenshots. The crazy part is even at around $90k, they are good value in today’s market. At $75k they are just simply cheap for how great they are and I am still kicking myself for not ordering an R1T and an R1S years ago…

While this is true, selling the pre-price hike units in the future when the component costs will be even higher will kill their margins so it probably makes more sense to fulfill all the pre-March 2022 orders first…
