So here's a dumb question with the black wood does it feel like it should be a $2000 option?

Mine still shows it as included??

Is it a $2k option for the Explore package and included with Adventure?

Also I prefer the older wood color, this may actually switch me to FE

It's a 2k option for post march 1 preorders. Seems a bit odd to charge 2k now that the trim is the same, making it the same price as FE. It would be better to make it a 1k upgrade instead for the newer orders.

Just spoke w customer service and they indicated a 4th interior combo (in addition to the revised OC w BM wood) would be announced in the next few weeks. He described it as essentially the ocean coast but with more white accents included

For the "real" ocean coast (more light accents) estimate is early 2023.

The cheaper Explore R1T is now history. Rivian claimed a low percentage of reservation holders chose it so they dropped it.

I think it’s a great financial move. They should have offered two interior trims instead of 3. BM and OC choices would have been perfect. They could have charged a $1k premium for OC just like Tesla does.

Not really different than any of the exterior colors being around $2000 options.

ya it still has the dark wood on the doors and steering wheel.

Becuase they already sourced it for the 47 Explore trim preorder holders that they just canceled on...

I'd bet that within a very short period of time, there will be multiple texture/color wrap/overlay options for the dash and all the trim BM portion.

In particular, I'm surprised that there hasn't already been one with carbon fiber pattern to wrap over all the interior BM trim by some accessory maker.

I'm okay with new BM wood on OC - just ok. Definitely don't want the vinyl dash. The black and gray combo is bit on the cold side but its significantly better than all dark cave-like interior for R1S.
